Kai Continues Outside Japan
Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
But this might be pretty short, like when Ginyu took control of Bulma. They had to keep it, but it was still pretty short.
That adventure with the dinosaurs can't be that long. And there might be parts that can be cut to shorten it (Kai usually manages to compress the events of a full Z episode into half an episode).

I've said it before, but I guess it bears repeating...
Regarding Gohan and the Dinosaurs material in the future Kai episodes:
It is possible to remove all of the dinosaur material and much, if not all, of the high school filler; all one would need to do is place the scratch onto Gohan's face after he saves the bus full of old people and Videl. That way, after Gohan introduces himself and flies away, it's possible to cut straight to the scene in the school hallway where Videl confronts Gohan about his identity. Problem solved.
Of course, reanimating the whole chain of events would be ideal, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

That or take elements from the Manga where Videl just sees through the disguise what with the voice and everything during the bus rescue but she waits until they're at school. No scratch involved.IAmTheMilkMan wrote:I've said it before, but I guess it bears repeating...

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
I know it kind of goes against the point of Kai, but I almost hope they don't remove almost all of the Saiyaman material, because a lot of that is the best filler in the entire series. It's hilarious, and it doesn't cause any continuity errors that I remember.

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
Dragon Ball Z episodes #200-205 will probably be combined into three episodes, although with creative editing they could probably just skip the dinosaur stuff completely and have Videl say different dialogue to get Gohan to reveal his identity. Then the training during #206-207 could be combined into one episode, too.

They could add dialogue of her putting two and two together in her mind during when the bus is being saved.JulieYBM wrote:Dragon Ball Z episodes #200-205 will probably be combined into three episodes, although with creative editing they could probably just skip the dinosaur stuff completely and have Videl say different dialogue to get Gohan to reveal his identity. Yeah, that's possible too. Just about any excuse is possible if they want to move the plot along faster.matt0044 wrote:They could add dialogue of her putting two and two together in her mind during when the bus is being saved.JulieYBM wrote:Dragon Ball Z episodes #200-205 will probably be combined into three episodes, although with creative editing they could probably just skip the dinosaur stuff completely and have Videl say different dialogue to get Gohan to reveal his identity. In regards to Gohan's insult to Buu, How about "Nimrod?"

Nimrod's a lame insult.matt0044 wrote:In regards to Gohan's insult to Buu, How about "Nimrod?"
I already decided it should be "Dumbass" in the uncut version.

Oh, sorry. I meant to say "nimrod" as in for the Nicktoons version. Gotta fit with the mouth-flaps.Metalwario64 wrote:Nimrod's a lame insult.matt0044 wrote:In regards to Gohan's insult to Buu, How about "Nimrod?"

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
I'm almost expecting them to actually use Dummy for the censored version, then Dumbass for the uncut.

I'm partial to "halfwit".

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
So how many episodes were finished recording now? I assume they would be done by now.

Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
When Tanaka first updated she said there were at the part in the story where Trunks and Goten beat up Mighty Mask and took his costume. Lady, Furukawa posed with Mitsuya Yuuji (Kaiou'shin), which I would think meant they were recording their fight.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:So how many episodes were finished recording now? I'm going to go ahead and assume they might be around the beginning of the Babidi stuff by now.

Tss, this is taking so long... Meanwhile, we don't know anything about a new opening, new songs, etc...JulieYBM wrote:When Tanaka first updated she said there were at the part in the story where Trunks and Goten beat up Mighty Mask and took his costume. You know, if it was to be aired in Japan, we would have seen them already. They did one episode a week for two years, with a minor headstart, meaning it likely took them only one week to edit an episode, meaning we would basically have one episode a week since a few weeks now! All because of this lack of airing, we're not about to see those episodes anytime soon.
Maybe once Battle of Gods has been shown, they'll finally focus a bit on Kai again.
I wish they would be more communicative about the process, telling us about where they currently are, new theme songs, new opening and eyecatches...
Re: Kai Continues Outside Japan
There's really no reason for Toei to roll out the red carpet. As far as their usual target audience is concerned these episodes don't exist. Toei certainly has no intention of spending the money it would require to let everyone know about them, after all. We'll likely only receive official word through FUNimation that they have licensed these episodes well after Toei is finished and shipping the materials out to licensees.

So any news on this yet? Sorry to bump and get your hopes up that there really is news.

I still think "dick head" would be a good choice.

After hearing FUNimation's Shin-Chan and Panty and Stocking dubs, I think they would stick with retard. For the most part FUNimation does a good job with the 'swearing' adaptations and the script in general, for the most part.
