Goku also did bring up the point that he hadn't done anything bad yet. You can't just go around killing people because they may or may not do something evil. As we've seen in the story things aren't set in stone.Rocketman wrote:The people Gero kills are not revived.TonyTheTiger wrote:But that's only a half truth. He was also a former Red Ribbon Army scientist. Which means he at the very least used to do evil, evil things.
Goku could just check up on him, and then kill him when Gero tries to kill Goku.

Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
They could've easily done it after the Cell Games. "Revive all the people whose deaths were the result of Dr. Gero's machinations."
Probably something less complex and wordy, though.
They also never wished back East City or the people therein.

Are you trying to say they wished them back off screen? That's only an assumption.

Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
Exactly. Goku could find Gero's laboratory (I mean, seriously! They didn't even bother to make a test flight out to the island that was about to be attacked beforehand!), go there, and tell him, "Hey, beeteedubs, I heard you were making some evil machines to kill me and wreak havoc on the world. I would advise that you don't. I'll be coming back to check up on you, and if you do, I will snap your neck like a tasty breadstick. Kay, thanx, bye!"CaBrPi wrote:He was also a former Red Ribbon Army scientist. Which means he at the very least used to do evil, evil things.

It's one of those moments where you actually wish Toriyama pulled something out of his ass like "the dragon can't detect the lab" instead of the characters acting brain dead.

Yeah, that's true. But I assume it.Insertclevername wrote:Are you trying to say they wished them back off screen? That's only an assumption.

Of course, there was Vegeta who would've been prompted to make more victims out of this if he didn't get to fight.Gaffer Tape wrote:Exactly. Goku could find Gero's laboratory (I mean, seriously! Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
I don't think either situations are possible. The Dragon Balls can only wish back masses of people within a year after their death, which isn't possible in either scenario because the Dragon Balls were used for other wishes/rendered inert.

Which is why you have the group of more level-headed, non-sociopathic people, at least one of whom is stronger than him, force him to not be a completely selfish idiot.matt0044 wrote:Of course, there was Vegeta who would've been prompted to make more victims out of this if he didn't get to fight.Gaffer Tape wrote:Exactly. Honestly, does anyone remember Kaioshin's reactions to Goku and the others or Piccolo's reaction to Gotenks? I've always just imagined how the scene would have played out if Trunks had stuck around for a few minutes to listen to the completely inane, self-serving, casualty-inducing plan they ended up coming up with. I can very easily imagine Trunks having the exact same reaction and wondering why exactly he put the faith of humanity in the hands of these idiots.

Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
That rule only seems to apply with really large groups of people - the only time it's ever brought up is when they're wishing back everyone killed by Freeza and his men, and the dragon says he can only do the ones killed in the last year due to how frickin' many people would be included under that banner. And right after that wishing session, the guys still on Kaio's planet are totally fine with waiting until the Dragon Balls can be used again to come back, even though that would make it over a year since they'd died.Saiga wrote:I don't think either situations are possible. Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
Oh wow... I just realized that would also imply every other inhabitant of planets purged by the Planet Trade Organization in the last year. Hahaha, the poor bastards that bought those planets must have had a hell of a day. Specially because when that happened it was Christmas Eve, Ehem.. I mean, Freeza's Day.Ookalf wrote:That rule only seems to apply with really large groups of people - the only time it's ever brought up is when they're wishing back everyone killed by Freeza and his men, and the dragon says he can only do the ones killed in the last year due to how frickin' many people would be included under that banner. Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"
Re: Chi Chi and Goku! How come?
But that's the thing, in both situations they'd be bringing back multiple people, and that isn't possible.Ookalf wrote:That rule only seems to apply with really large groups of people - the only time it's ever brought up is when they're wishing back everyone killed by Freeza and his men, and the dragon says he can only do the ones killed in the last year due to how frickin' many people would be included under that banner. Weren't we discussing something else before?

Ah... Sorry about that. I missed the part where you specified "masses of people". Entirely my bad. Carry on.Saiga wrote:But that's the thing, in both situations they'd be bringing back multiple people, and that isn't possible.
