I'll repeat Superman Prime is nigh to straight up Omnipotent. He can take life and give it with a simple thought. Throwing galaxies like shurikens isn't impressive for the likes of Superman prime.Gyt Kaliba wrote:It's descriptions like that that make me wonder how he'd handle the final mecha in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (which is it's name too). Honestly for me I decide who is superior with the strongest form vs the strongest form. As for standard Superman, he likely has some ability to hit these guys because remember the writers can make him do whatever they want, within some kind of reason. Superman is broken.Saiga wrote:TheMightyOzaru wrote:This is Superman, he likely has a way to beat them. Furthermore there is future Superman whom is nigh to straight up Omnipotent. It's completely pointless to bring Prime into these discussions.

So either way, it basically comes down to (barring this omniscient offshoot version of Superman) having some kind of 'trick' to beat him, rather than actually being stronger, right?
What about Garlic Jr. then, if he opened up the Dead Zone and was able to suck Superman in? Or maybe Devilman and his ability to bring out any latent evil within someone and causing them to explode?

The Dead Zone wouldn't contain Superman for long. He can punch holes in dimensional barriers. He would escape. Superman has no evil so that wouldn't work on Superman either. So far Buu seems to be Superman's bane.Gyt Kaliba wrote:So either way, it basically comes down to (barring this omniscient offshoot version of Superman) having some kind of 'trick' to beat him, rather than actually being stronger, right?

What about Janemba with his reality warping powers and a sword that apparently does not need to make contact to strike a hit?

Chad was also developing reiatsu at the time, enough to punch said Hollow so I would be a bit more inclined to think that played a part in the phone pole having an effect. ;PMewzard wrote:Chad beat up a Hollow at the start of a series with a steel girderSaiga wrote:Superman doesn't have Reiatsu, so he can't even see the Soul Reapers from Bleach 8DHellspawn28 wrote:Superman's powers are above anything in Bleach. Are we absolutely sure on that? I'm not asking this to argue, just saying it may require some more thought. Remember that Goku was a pretty unique case (at least, in Dragon Ball), when the technique failed on him. Seems like just about anyone else would have been killed by the technique, even the other heroes such as Kuririn.TheMightyOzaru wrote:Superman has no evil so that wouldn't work on Superman either. Has Superman ever been tempted or almost corrupted in the past? Anything at all could make a big difference here, even if he's otherwise a poster child for being a hero.

No, Superman has never struggled with making the right decision before in the past as far as I know. Superman is pretty much mr goody 2 shoes.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Are we absolutely sure on that? ^^^
Even though he isn't called it in universe I prefer to refer to Superman Prime from DC One Million as Superman Prime One Million or 1,000,000. That way its a little less confusing especially since Superboy Prime was known as Superman Prime for a while and I believe thats when he was at his strongest since he had absorbed the energy of a guardian of the universe.

Vegetto would TOTALLY beat Superman.
Okay sorry.

Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
I think the problem with that is that the differences in destructive capabilities already seem pretty big at the lower levels. If Kame-sennin can blow up the whole Moon with a battle power lower than 200, what could Goku or the farmer-with-shotgun blow up with their battle powers of 10 and 5? If the increases start off small and get exponentially bigger, wouldn't that mean even a battle power of 1 would be enough to destroy whole continents, if not more?TheMightyOzaru wrote:Well we could work out an exponential increase in destrtuctive capabilities when increasing power levels. This would make it so the power levels don't have to be so big. However an exponential destructive capacity could make Vegetto a potential Galaxy buster which might be a bit out there.
I was actually trying to work it out the opposite way: start with really big increases and have them gradually decrease as the battle power gets higher. So far I haven't gotten it to work quite right, though, and considering how random and made up Toriyama's numbers are, I'm not that optimistic. But hey, it's fun to try.

Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
Well they can still use that number, but then add some logic to it. Base GT Goku was clearly on the level of SS3 Z Goku if not higher, so just take the original number, add the SS3 multiplier, then take that number as the new base and add the SS4 multiplier to that, giving a much much larger number more accurate to the apparent end of GT Goku used in the video.johnboy1 wrote:Okay, Goku should be stronger... how much stronger? You have to put a number to it (a real measurement, not just a power level). The reason they used Buu-arc (not Cell-arc) Goku instead of GT Goku is because the feat they used is the most impressive one with a real number attached to it (or deducible from it). And it actually makes a certain level of sense. The infamous "office building" scene from GT finally doesn't seem so out of place: someone who could only lift 160,000 tons (possibly less, if you think the 10x multiplier for SSj4 was too much) would not be able to hold up an average office building by himself. I don't know where the Hell they got "lifting a continent" from, because that's orders of magnitude heavier than the number they just gave.Nex Carnifex wrote:I'll repost this from my thread:
In the GvS battle, there were some things that just were plain stupid. For one, they calculated how strong Goku was based on a feat towards the end of the Cell saga...wait I thought they were using the end of story GT Goku? If so, his base form should be way way stronger than it was back then, apparently (according to GT) even stronger the SS3 Z Goku. So, their calculations are way off if you take those facts into consideration. Even then, using GT is going to be stupid, GT does NOT make it look like SS4 Goku can lift a continent anyway. I'm not saying Goku should have one, I mean I think he could of and I think they showed that in the battle just Goku made the mistake of blasting Supes into his power source given him God powers, but they weren't as flawless with the information as they preach.
And really, think about it. We've seen DB characters do crazy shit with ki attacks, and we've seen them knock enemies into the stratosphere, but when do we see them moving anything really fucking big? Very rarely, and not usually on a very big scale. You don't need building-support superstrength to knock a 180-pound opponent across town. It would seem that the vast, vast majority of Goku's destructive power is concentrated in his ki attacks, not in his fists.

Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
Superman really is broken though, and his battles are usually much lower in scale than the ones seen in Dragon Ball. And yes he has taken some serious damage, like getting smashed between 2 planets, but even that is nothing when you take Freeza, who can blow up planets, and multiply that thousands of time over to get the strongest incarnation of Goku possible.

Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
If the guide's remark about Vegetto's power being the product of Vegeta and Goku's powers is accurate, then yeah, I think he's got Superman's number. Vegetto's physical strength still isn't going to cut it, but the number of megatons for his ki output is going to be so high we might not even have a name for it (!). He should be able to completely incinerate Superman.
To a strong man, the end justifies the means. To a stronger man, the means justify the end.
Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
Vegetto would also have access to SSJ and SSJ2, possibly SSJ3 even.
