Well it looks like they're going to add more theaters. I really hope it plays somewhere in Upstate New York because as of right now the closest one to me is Washington D.C., 8-10 hours away!

Sorry to barge in on everyone's bitch brigade, but didn't you guys already know it'd only be in select theatres? Is that the entire list, though? I seem to remember reading somewhere that there'd be more cities/locations listed, but eh. Not suprised at Canada since I don't think FUNimation cover Canada, but please feel free to prove me wrong in a less assholish-attitude that I'm portraying now :) (that, and Canada is govourned by different censorship boards and are privvy to different standards, like any country. They'd have to go through another film distributor for it, and I don't think the company they're going through can reach there, but thats pure fatty speculation).

Anyway, this is an experiment, hence the big logo on the poster. It's not so much the launch of DBZ in cinemas, rather they're trying to make a big fuss about their first 'legitimate' theatrical venture. They're trying to make a name for themselves, I guess.

I mean, since I don't live in the US anyway (and don't much like Movie #6 dub- hell, any dub from Dragonball) it's all pretty unimportant so really I shouldn't be saying anything (not in a 'oh wah be appreciative of what you've got! because i believe as consumers it is your right to complain...just that you're not nessecerally listened to)

Usually when an anime movie is released in select cinemas, at least every or close to every state gets a few theaters playing the movie. That is one hell of a limited selecting, and an odd one at that when they choose not to involve New York. o_O

So the chances of a UK release are pretty much ziltch? I would definately go to see it if it was showing over here. Oh well, i've still got my copy on DVD to watch.

That the number of theathers is small and limited doesn't surprise me. The closest one to me is the Illinois showing, and even that would take me 4 hours to drive down there. However, I'm content to watch the movie on DVD when it comes out, so I'm not bothered by the limited selection.

Especially because I wanted to see this in theatres (I'm getting the DVD, but..) and the closest thing there is in Alanta. >_< No way I can make it there.

I've gotten to see Spirited Away and Cowboy Bebop in theaters. That's more than I ever thought I would say about seeing anime on the big screen. However, if somehow I get the chance to head to Chicago (or anyplace closer if more theaters are added) I know plenty of people who'll carpool just to see DBZ in theaters.

Crap....

I've grown used to my fandoms having a large dislike for Kentucky, but geez, Cincinatti is usually included in these things.

Ya know, it's just annoying. I've seen plenty of limited releases here in CT at the Showcase in Orange. Failing that, a train ride to NYC (and sometimes movies that I'd have to go to NYC to see make their way to Orange after a few months). And this isn't playing anywhere remotely within my range. It's my favorite DBZ movie too...
Limited relase is one thing, but you'd think they're make it mildly accessible to DBZ fans that don't live in one of those 6 states. It feels like if your a Texan or Californian FUNi's got your back, otherwise good luck on the roll of the dice.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Chaos Saiyajin, I know what you mean. If only I were old enough to get my driver's liscence (sp)...

Maybe if we (as in, not me) send a calm e-mail to FUNimation asking them to put more theaters on the list, they'll do it.
Even I became a loser when I made one of these...

:? Yeah, but FUNi's realized that DBZ's just not as popular as it used to be. I mean back in '99, I said 'DBZ' and all my fellow 3rd Graders went 'Sweet! Kick Ass!' (I kid you not about the latter :P ) but now, I say 'Dragonball' in 9th Grade, and I get made fun of and called a geek. (Which usually results with me telling the son of a bitch to fuck off)

That's why FUNi isn't doing a widespread movie showing. It just isn't as popular anymore...

Ah well, that's oh-kay since I was going to get the dvd anyway. I can just watch it at home on the flat-screen tv, snack on whatever I want, and pause it if I need to stop to go do something.

So there's always a chance for New York. I'd be shocked if they didn't include that state in their final listing.
On hiatus.

Whoa, everyone needs to chill out and relax! FUNimation Films is just testing the waters. This always happens with new companies and movies looking for an audience. They start small and if they are successful, they grow into more and more theaters. If you are unfortuante enough to not have a theater that is showing it near you, then you need to put your faith in those who do. The people who have the opportunity to see this film in theaters: PLEASE DO! If FUNi makes enough off of such a very very limited release, Fusion Reborn, or even perhaps Movie 13 could find their way to a much wider release. Where there is a will, there is a way.

OH SNAP, I'm 45 minutes away from San Diego. My brother can take me and my friend, as we are all huge DBZ nuts.
