I found one of those cheap DBZ plug and play games at goodwill last week. It's sad the only fun game on it is pinball, but I wasn't expecting much.

It's only about six inches. Due to the product specs on Amazon (and the word BIG), I was expecting it to be a lot bigger, but it doesn't bother me too much considering the sculpt is amazing on it. I bought it through one of those companies who go through Amazon and it only ended up being $33. A pretty good deal considering I bought my husband that Trunks figure, which is cool, but I spent more on it and the facial sculpt is meh... less than accurate.

Gyt Kaliba wrote:I concur, that Goku figure is AWESOME. Way more accurate on the face than I'm used to figures looking.
I agree. The facial sculpt is really accurate, and what makes it really impressive is the over-all small size of the figure. I love figures like this because artistically, they are pieces of work. If I could spare more cash, I'd get the Piccolo one, but that one is a little more expensive... actually it's gone down since I last looked at it:

http://www.amazon.com/PICCOLO-SCultures ... es+Piccolo
I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time, everything is 3D blasphemy.
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way I picture me.
I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

I've got that, assuming you're talking about this thing.

And you're right sadly, the Pinball game on that is actually the best part, though I haven't messed with this thing for years. There's supposed to be some kind of 'Game Key' to plug into the cartridge slot thing on the back of it, that will unlock one or two extra games, but I've never found the thing to get it. My Wal-mart carried this a few years back, but the only Game Key they ever had was for a Spongebob game, bah.

Yeah, I didn't want to say anything, but that Trunks figure isn't nearly as nice as that Goku figure is. I'll bet your husband will like it though. :)

That figure looks great too. Gah. Why am I looking at a thread that makes me want to spend money!

No need to hold back for my sake, I know that figure isn't great. My husband loves Trunks, and he's not as big of a DB fan as me, so he's happy regardless. I was hoping to buy the original edition, because this one is the second clear hair edition, but this one was the only one they had.

It's from the Dragon Ball DX line. The only figure from that line I can see with a halfway decent sculpt is the SSj3 Gotenks one. They're all still not perfect though. The style is off.

The Banpresto SCultures figures are the way to go.

I PM'd you the link, but for anyone else:
http://www.amazon.com/Son-Goku-Dragonba ... tures+Goku

The Amazon specs are 8", but it's wrong. The figure's only 6".

I got it from the "Entertainment Hobby Shop Jungle" through Amazon. It was the cheapest price ($33.90) even though the shipping was a bit high ($6.49). I got it earlier than estimated time and even got a free Yugioh card for buying with them, even though I don't like the series.

It's not specifically Dragon Ball (even though Goku is on the cover), but I picked up a copy of the Akira Toriyama: The World art book in near-perfect condition at Book Off the other day. Adding that to my Akira Toriyama: The World Anime Special, all I need to do now is find the hardcover Akira Toriyama: The World SPECIAL in order to complete the 1990 trifecta. (Yes, all three guidebooks released that year had nearly the same title. It was a yearlong retrospective on the first decade of Toriyama's career, or something.)

Since I posted here last- which I for some reason stopped early last year...

All of Kai and the rest of the manga.

Funny, I was never the biggest Kai supporter, then I bought some volumes because I can't stand the Orange Brick picture quality and because the early DBoxes are so much...

Now I love it.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

Pretty excited about my latest purchase...or purchases. So I had the Dragon Ball Dragon Box and came across some very, very, VERY nice deals so...within about a month I am going to the be owner of the Japanese Dragon Boxes -- all of them!

To kick off my latest purchase binge (as I'm going to call it), I'll start with the first one I got (besides the DB one I already owned)!

I'm sorry about the terrible quality. Don't know why my phone is taking pictures like this, but whatever lol

It actually came wrapped. Made me feel like I was getting a new product, even though I know I'm not lol Still nice.

Comparison to the FUNimation release. Finally a damn good quality version!

How I plan to watch my Dragon Boxes. It's a little annoying (firing up a FUNi disc through WMP and playing the Dragon Boxes on Power DVD at the same time, resizing them, syncing them, etc.), but it works for me!

I paid $350 for it.

I paid $380 for the GT Dragon Box
I paid $850 for BOTH Z Dragon Boxes.

Yeah lots of money thrown around but I saw an opportunity to own it all, it looked like a great price, so there we go.

There is a Z Dragon Box (both) up on Ebay for $1,800. Yeah not sure about that one. I bought the GT one and he asked if there was anything else I wanted. So I asked if he had the Z Dragon Boxes and bam, he gave me a great price partially because it was a direct sale through Paypal.

Oh the prices include that ridiculous shipping price that they ask for lol Yeah the Ebay Z Dragon Box has free shipping, but all others have like $40 shipping.

Either way, it's rare, it's what I want, it will give me closure with the series, it will make me feel good to know that I have it, so I thought it was worth it.

Nice dude! I've been wanting to rip some of my R2 DBox singles and the correlated subtitles from some of my Funimation sets in order to fuse them into one file. I know I've read of other forum members doing something similar. Without going too off-topic could somebody (via PM, even) point me in the direction of some instructions to help me out with this?

I just picked this up today :D Image
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

So what did I get delivered today? Hm.

So far this is my Dragon Box collection:

Oh and it gave me some Zeni... weird. I really don't need anything but the DVDs and the book, but okay!

You know, I can't quite put my finger on it, but something is a little wrong... Oh well, I think this problem will be solved with my next and FINAL shipment of Dragon Box products!

That isn't bad for both Z boxes but the GT dragon box was 380$ and didn't come with the remote? 350$ for the movies too??? Soooo expensive! I had an extra one that I was selling on here awhile ago for 150$ if I remember but noone wanted it. I guess off to ebay I go!

It came with the remote. I just don't need that stuff. It came with everything, the remote, the Zeni, all that stuff. The thing is, I don't need those things. The little toys that the Z Boxes come with are defintely not needed.

As for your pricing, think what you want, but I thought that was a steal. It's not like there are tons of places to find these things. On Ebay the average running price on GT and the movies was $850-$650. Now all of the sudden, there are sets that are less, but I definitely didn't see anything that beats what I got them for. Either way, it's fine. Money's already been spent, so I Don't have to worry about it :)
