I'd say that if you only viewed it in two groups rather than multiple levels, then they'd be lumped into the same group as the movies and such.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Either way, these minor contradictions don't bring them to the same level as the movies, IMO. For me, their "canonicity level" (of the manga versions) is above the anime, but below the manga.

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

In the manga version of the special, Ava and Kado couldn't even touch Goten and Trunks so this isn't a good way to scale Goten and Trunks.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Except that the manga versions of these two don't contradict the manga.Dabooyaka wrote:Using Abo and Cado as evidence is the same as arguing that Bardock is the legendary Super Saiyan. It doesn't fly with me. Sure, those specials are fun, but when they blatantly contradict the canon source, they fall in the same tiers as movies.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
Re: Base Saiyans' PL.
It's still irrelevant. Just like Bardock is not a Legendary Super Saiyan that traveled back in time to defeat a midget version of Freeza, Abo and Cado are not as strong as Freeza. There are specials that where made YEARS after the original manga was released. They are not Canon.

Seconded.Rocketman wrote:Less than 10 million.
If they could keep their 50x boost from the SSJ transformation, and still could reach higher powers just by training their base, I doubt that they would have tried to reach new levels of transformation.
All in all, the tactics the Saiya-jins used was to refine their forms and to reach new forms.
But each to his own I guess.
