Dragon Box still up for pre-order

Post by Milton » Mon Mar 13, 2006 10:58 am

This is kind of a heads up for any of you last-minute types. :P

I was just checking out Amazon Japan, and it seems that pre-orders for the last Dragon Box have reopened. It's still being offered at 22% off, so if you were kicking yourself for not pre-ordering it before December, act fast. Give a click.

This month kicks ass. I bought my Beretta 92FS Brigadier last week as an early birthday present, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence comes out this week, the DB Movie Box comes next week, and Kingdom Hearts II closes out the month.

Yay March, way to rebound from February! I'm curious to see how this box will stack up compared to the other 4.

Indeed, March has been kicking ass. When this box was announced for a March release, I finally had the ultimate excuse to plunk down the money for a Dragon Box (birthday gift to myself). Even better is the fact that now one of my DVD players is region free...now I can watch R2s on my TV, thank God.

Edit: just went over finances and if I am able to buy the box, I'm putting severe hindrances on real life things and well.. looks like I'm just gonna have to wait for the singles :) Cancelled, one more up for grabs folk.

I'm not seeing it. What do you need to type or do to bring up the listing to the Movie Box set? I see the other four but not the one for the Movies. I'd like to pre-order it if I still can...please, help!

Yeah, the entry no longer exists. It's still in all our accounts, though. But they haven't updated the shipping date.

Here's hoping we don't all get screwed! :D

Talk about late - I just ordered it now (March 28, 9:45AM) from the above link (it's working again apparently).

Thank god I did too - I only realized this morning that I hadn't completed my order from another site that still had it a week or two ago (HMV, I think) and they were sold out when I went to check just now.

In the end - this is for the best - Amazon is/was cheaper. Whew, I'm just grateful it's over - I've been in the middle of a move and busy as hell and I nearly forgot about the situation completely.

Here's to us all getting our shipments quick and it hopefully being one of the best sets they've released so far!

Dragonbox is the first official Japanese DVD release of DBZ. Five boxsets in total, 2 for Z, one for DB, one for GT and one for the movies. Each set comes with episodes sourced from original masters, and are of the highest quality thus far. They don't contain subs, but are around 6 eps per disc. Each set comes with extras.

Z set 1 came with a Kaiyodo Goku figure and the Bardock special, along with original Japanese commercials. (Kaiyodo are the producers of those really awesome Evangelion/Trigun action figures, among other things).

Z set 2 came with a Piccolo Kaiyodo figure, the Trunks special, and the Playdia animation.

The DB set came with an Akira Toriyama designed Daiorama, and the two DB educational videos (on crossing the road and on fire safety/brigades).

The GT set came with a Dragonradar-based DVD remote, and the GT special.

Each set contains a Dragonbook, which contains episode summaries, bios, facts, interviews, etc.

The Movie box will contain all 17 movies, based on theatrical prints ( so "widescreen"). The set will not come with a Dragonbook apparently, but will have walkie talkie scouters. The Widescreen is actually cropped from the FUllscreen you'd see on FUNimation's discs, however the films were made with a widescreen presentation in mind (hence theatrical). It's entirely up to preference to which one you prefer, though, but this practice is carried out with a lot of Toei-animated films anyway, and is the issue of threads gone by.
