One Hour Toriko/One Piece/DBZ crossover to Air April 7
One Hour Toriko/One Piece/DBZ crossover to Air April 7
Well, I'll be damned. A week after Battle of Gods hits theaters, too.

I really like DB and OP; Toriko is blah, but two out of three isn't bad and I can put up with Toriko and his cast if it means getting to watch Goku and Luffy go on adventures together.
Still would've preferred animated Cross Epoch though. >_>
Heh, I just realized, imo it's kinda ballsy to throw Toriko in there after his show replaced Kai. Like having to work with the guy who took your job.

Well, unless my Google-Fu fails me Mister Satan will at least be involved.
I'm wondering what the staff will be? Hmm...
Re: One Hour DBZ/Toriko/One Piece crossover to Air April 7
Hopes are higher knowing Mr. Satan's involved in this; I almost want to call that he'll be the originator of whatever shenanigans happen in this special. XD

I don't care for One Piece and I'm not familiar with Toriko but new material is new material. It is a good year for DB.
Re: One Hour DBZ/Toriko/One Piece crossover to Air April 7
My guess for why it's a crossover is that Toei figures it can get more viewers that way.
A non-crossover special that actually related to BOG would've been my top choice, but I guess that'd be too much work for Toei to want to put in. Or maybe they don't think they'd get as many viewers if it was DB alone? I dunno.

Toei's done two one-hour crossovers for Toriko and One Piece so far, so it figures they want to do another...and Battle of Gods just so happened to be out, so I think it made sense to combine all three.
At the bare minimum this special probably began production last one, too. I wonder if Shida will have time to be involved...

I can do without Toriko but OP and DB? Hell yeah! Can't wait to see this special, even though we all would rather prefer Cross Epoch animated special (Com'on Toei!) or a tie-in to Battle of the Gods but I guess any new content is good content.

I'm pretty indifferent to crossovers, but I did enjoy Cross Epoch. I also couldn't care less about Toriko, but One Piece and especially DragonBall make me happy. So, hooray, I guess!
And I hate to be "that guy" who's already talking about an international release, but hey, FUNi does own the rights to all three shows...

At long last, Dragon Ball and One Piece get an animated crossover! ...And Toriko is there as a third wheel. Oh well. I'll watch it anyway.

Woot! Finally we get an animated One Piece/Dragon Ball crossover! Hooray for Cross Epo - ...oh, it's not?
Well, that's fine. At least it's animated OP/DB material! ...Wait, there's a third one? Please don't tell me it's Tori-
...*BLEEP*
All kidding aside, especially since I can't really talk much, having not looked into Toriko yet myself, this is awesome news. I can't wait to see what kind of adventure will result from this, and the character interaction is what's definitely gonna be great here.

I hope it's gonna be good. I love both Dragon Ball & One Piece, but I don't care about Toriko.
I don't think I want Cross Epoch animated. I would prefer something better.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Hmm, pretty cool not really a One Piece fan and only so much as heard of Toriko but cool none the less. Maybe its going to help promote Project versus J.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

I love Cross Epoch, though to be fair, if they did it now, I would kind of like the anime version to be updated some. It'd be nice to add in Franky and Brooke somehow. I can think of a perfectly good way to do it for Franky, not so sure on Brooke. And it'd probably use the timeskip designs for the OP gang.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:I don't think I want Cross Epoch animated. Yeah, I can't help but notice how tidy this could work out too.MagicBox wrote:And I hate to be "that guy" who's already talking about an international release, but hey, FUNi does own the rights to all three shows...

Toriko's pulling in rather poor numbers all around. The ratings are way down from Kai, and are currently closer to the One Piece reruns than the premieres in viewership. The manga isn't selling like a top JUMP property either. They'll probably hope this gets Dragon Ball fans, and One Piece fans watching Toriko as well as alerting everyone to Battle of Gods.

It was fun for the most part, but the ending with Shenlong's tea party was... not my type. But yeah, if they were to release it in anime, I would also like to update the One Piece characters (and add Gohan, WHERE IS GOHAN?!).Gyt Kaliba wrote:I love Cross Epoch, though to be fair, if they did it now, I would kind of like the anime version to be updated some. They are trying a lot to promote Toriko, given that they debuted the first episode with a One Piece crossover, made a manga crossover, a second anime crossover, and have it along with Dragon Ball & One Piece as the main franchises in Project Versus J, and now this. I would prefer Naruto instead of Toriko.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:Toriko's pulling in rather poor numbers all around. The ratings aren't the issue, merchandise is. High ratings didn't save Dragon Ball Kai.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:Toriko's pulling in rather poor numbers all around. That would cost a lot more money than it's probably worth.AnimeMaakuo wrote:Why can't they color correct the entire series already? It's been ten years since the initial Dragon Box release.
