Easy way to find Part 4 with Yamamoto music

Post by ShadowDude112 » Sat Feb 09, 2013 4:52 pm

So, I have parts 1-3 with the Kenji Yamamoto score, and I know Part 4 was the the last one to have it on there. Of course, now they're reprinted with the Kikuchi music. I just want to get Part 4 with Yamamoto music, but I don't know a way to identify if the one I'm buying will have the Yamamoto music on it. So, is there an easy way to tell if it has it or so I just need to take a guess and hope that it has the Yamamoto music on there?

I don't think "Part 4" (or "Part 3" for that matter) was actually re-printed in North America with the replacement score. I'm fairly certain that "Part 4" was super delayed and had the replacement score by the time it came out in Australia, but not here in North America. The "Season" sets obviously have the replacement score.

Can anyone else chime in on that? Pretty sure I'm right...

Yeah, I remember asking a while back about why my Part 4 had Kikuchi since I was pretty naive about it being super delayed, to which the explanation above was what was given to me.

To make up for the really long delay, Madman released Part 5 alongside Part 4 on the same day.

Oh, perfect! I live in the U.S., so I 'm glad I can still get the Yamamoto score. Thanks, guys!
Edit: Oh, great. Apparently Part 4 is super expensive when it's new on Amazon and like $60+ used on Amazon. Perfect. Just perfect.

There are some people selling the Walmart bundle of Parts 3 and 4 (with Yamamoto score) on Amazon for pretty cheap.

I'm looking for Part 4 on Blu-ray. But I appreciate the suggestion. Anyone know where to find Part 4 on Blu-ray for cheap?

You forgot to mention that your "Part 4" (Collection 4, actually) is from Madman's not FUNimation exactly, which they've stated that the newer copies have the replacement music.

Anyway, since you live in US try retail stores than just online marketplaces, you might be lucky to find it for a cheap low price.

I was always confused by what Part 4 actually had because when I bought the Madman release for Parts 1-3, the discs were taken straight from the US release, disc art and all, and I think Parts 5-8 did as well, so I presumed Part 4 also did. I managed to find a shot of the back cover and it still said Region A, B which would have meant it'd be the same also, but it could have been something overlooked. I never found any disc shots though of their Part 4 release so I can't know for sure.

Though it doesn't matter now, I managed to get the US version of Part 4 for a good price.
