So, what's the opinion on the Magic Begins (Live action)?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

It gets criticized a lot but I watched it yesterday and it's pretty funny. Although it isn't all that accurate it does have some great parts like the whole thing on the Kame Island. I was suprised how good they represented Roshi, complete with letter-t-shirt and all.

The fighting was a bit lame with guys flying everywhere and "Steam"powerups but the scenes with the Nyoibo were decent and Blue Horn (Pilaf) looked like a legitimate villain.

If you like cheesy flicks it's pretty enjoyable I think.
Jord doesn't have a avatar because the combination of Jord and a equally cool avatar would cause the universe to implode.

It's not Pilaf. It is Gurumes. The "live action" movie is a "remake" of the first DB movie.

Hehe, but you're right. It's pretty funny. Especially Roshi and the Rambo-Oolong.^^

I can't find it for a decent enough price for how bad it supposedly is...

Well, you've convinced me! I just checked on Amazon.com, and I might buy it in the used/new section.

I loved it, it made me laugh so hard. Considering old Kung-fu movies are a major inspiration for Dragon Ball it works for me. You can't take it seriously at all, so it's more of a " it's so bad it's good" thing.
Watch if possible with some friends so you can make fun and have a good laugh.

Ah, so it's kinda like watching those old, old, live action Superman and Spider-man series? Even if it is, that's still a pretty good reson to buy it (under $15, anyways).
