If they can't provide the same quality they should just leave it to Toei Animation which they'll probably at some point do the full job (OP > EP-A > Break A/B > EP-B > NEP > ED) in HD.

Kei17, I knew that and was wondering which one to use but everyone knows it mostly as ED > NEP, than NEP > ED, besides Kai (I know, not a very good example) has it ED > NEP.

I think the level sets looks pretty cool. If TOEI did do a bluray they would look much better then FUNi's...less grain I'd suppose. But I hope if TOEI did Blu-ray, I'd hope they do some color correction

Either that or let FUNimation come in and do the color correction for them while they focus on the fottage restoration process.

I think it's a great idea because think about it if Toei was to combine their restored film with FUNimation's color corrections your talking about probably the ultimate home release of DB/Z/GT, but the chances of Toei actually doing that are slim to none because Toei has way too much pride that they don't want to see or admit when they actually need help.

I'm sure there's more interest than you think, the problem is the majority of Japanese consumers aren't being vocal about it because they feel that being vocal about something like this is being disrespectful to Toei animation.

True, but how many know of the better audio? Or really care I guess? Same could go for outside Japan too. Heck we're gettin Buu Kai for outside Japan (atleast for TV) show TOEI is expressing interest in the outside market.

I'm thinking about buying the two DBZ Levels 1.1 and 1.2, however, the DRM on the Xbox Marketplace episodes is a damn ____ because being outside US makes it hard to access without a VPN. Not sure how it exactly works out for PlayStation Marketplace, but I suppose the videos there are DRM'ed too.

It's just episodes 035-039 that are unreleased from the Saiyan saga, and then part one is complete... Kind of (No NEPs).

Fact is these episodes definitely look better than the ones on the Dragon Box Z, but for completeness, the Dragon Box Z wins.

They're probably so deluxe because Toei wanted to cash in on the first people who were willing to pay the high price for the DBOX's at the time, don't forget this was the very first official home release of the DB/Z/GT series in Japan and for all that Toei did to give such a high quality product, they needed to add something besides the show itself as an incentive to get people to buy it so Toei would be able to at least break even with the production costs which to a degree worked, thought I still think they should've gone the extra mile to find high quality audio sources for each episode and do a proper color correction on the series, but for what it's worth the DBOX is still an excellent release.

I don't understand the tweet, is he a Funimation rep? If so does he realise that they have done enough to release Level 2.1 and 2.2? Since they've done the remaster for those episodes surely it won't cost that much to release them? It's only after Level 2 that it would now cost a lot?

We don't exactly know how many episodes that they actually completed before halting production.

We know that the first 39 episodes are fully remastered. We've also seen clips from other arcs like Trunks when he fights Frieza but most likely it was only that small clip.

Yeah, if someone could get screenshots of those samples in 1080p HD it would be nice to see them as stills. Basically a look into the future HD episodes of DBZ properly remastered.

If possible directly from the Blu-ray Disc (Disc/Backup) because it's uncompressed and so the picture quality will stay intact.

If it's edited or not...and if it's real... at least it's all the Saiyan saga together and not missing one or two episodes in case they decide to cancel any future releases
