Why is Ultimate Butouden so expensive?

So, I really want to import Ultimate Butouden, but I'm having some problems tracking down a reasonably priced copy. CDJapan has it for around 50 dollars, but says it's Out of Print. Play-Asia is selling it for almost 100 dollars which is outrageous. Amazon Japan has it for around 70 dollars, which, I guess is okay? Amazon US has really expensive new copies, but the used ones start at $60 and then just go up. Don't even get me started on eBay prices. So, why is this game so expensive? Is it really out of print like CDJapan says or is it just so expensive because it's an import game?

AmiAmi has it for 3,980 JPY ($42.91) which is a pretty good deal. AmiAmi is good when it comes to prices then places like Play-Asia.

It's a game that didn't get a larger release outside of its own country, likely didn't get a huge print run, its original developer is no longer in business, and it's two years old for a system that's been replaced.

Shoulda gotten on that shit was it was new, folks .
