They started broadcasting Dragon Ball in Mexico in 1994. I was about to turn 10 at the time but I didn't watch until 1995 during the Muscle Tower arc. I was in Elementary School. 5th Grade, I believe. I would sing Romantic Age to my baby brother.

DBZ -1997 I was 12. I had just started Middle School a week before the premiere, everyone was talking about it.

DBGT - 2000 I was 15. First semester of High School. When it ended I was already 16.

I kinda got a break from DB until a couple of years ago, but I have been a fan for most of my life now.

Let's see...as beast as I can remember, I first got into DBZ when I was in the 6th grade, and that was in 2001. Does that sound about right for when they did some two-episode-a-day re-runs of the Freeza stuff, leading up to the premiere of Trunks episodes?

Backtracking to where I was when it first started in 96...if I did my math right, I would have been in 1st or 2nd grade. I would have been 7 at any rate.

As for when it ended, if that was in 2003, then I was in...8th grade, or about to be, or something. Hmm...that actually sounds roughly right somehow, considering I remember the Season Sets were just starting up when I finally graduated in 2007.

The premiere of the Trunks episodes would have been the fall of 2000.

It seems like most people in the US got into DBZ after 1996. I didn't became a fan of DBZ until 2001 when I was 10. I used to hate DBZ from 1998 or 1999 - 2000 because it was so popular and I didn't get into it at the time.

I think you are the person whose age I am closest to so far. I was starting 8th grade in September of '96. I didn't watch the show until it started coming on Toonami though, so I was either a sophomore or junior in high school, I think.

And I didn't really consider myself a "fan" of the show until I saw the first Peter Cullen-narrated commercial for Tree of Might. That blew my mind.

I was starting college when it ended, but rapidly lost interest in the U.S. version after the dub resumed with FUNimation's Texas cast, so this date isn't as important to me.

I lived in England so it was a little different plus there aren't grades here. I don't know exactly when Z started over here but I do remember Cartoon Network commercials for it back in 1998 when I was around 7 years old. It did end roughly the same time as Z did in America so 2003 should be right. I was 11 turning 12 and had started the first year of high school when it ended.

I was just a baby when DBZ first aired in 1996. I was about 7 years old when Funi's Boo saga ended and about 8 or 9 when their GT ended.

Really? Hmm...I can remember specifically having watched some Freeza re-runs before really getting into the show anew with the Trunks stuff, so maybe it was more like the summer between 5th grade and 6th that I got into the series. Man my memory is terrible.

Well, I didn't start school until 1999, so the dub had been going for a few years already. By the time it ended, I was only in third grade; feels like I would have been much older than that, but I guess they kept showing it on TV after that, and they also went on to dub Dragon Ball and GT and a few more of the movies after that, so the franchise still had a huge presence afterwards.

Alright, September of 96 I was in day care, 4 years old. Didn't get into DBZ until the following year, when my cousin showed it to me on TV and then gave me fan dubs to watch. Spring of 03 I was in 5th grade. Good times...

Fall of 1996, jeez... I guess I was just starting elementary school, and wouldn't actually get into the show until the summer of... 2002, I think. April 2003, when the dub for Z ended, I would have just finished the sixth grade. The last episode of GT was the beginning of 2005, so that's halfway through eighth grade. Dragon Ball throughout its FUNimation run, across the three series, aired during pretty much all of my elementary and junior high schooling.

I started truly wacthing and loving it in 3rd Grade. I was 8-9. I caught reruns of the Cell Games. The Kid Buu saga ended when I was in 5th. I was like 10 or 11.
