Battle of Gods has hit number 1 on CinemaTodays rankings. Must admit, I'm starting to become quite impressed by the marketing for this movie. The only thing that's missing is some decent merchandise.

Still eager to see if this can beat One Piece Z, HxH, or Eva in sales.

Took a look at CinemaToday; that's pretty cool.

Now that we've had the new form semi-revealed (or at least its existence revealed) I hope that means that the floodgates are open for spoilerrific merchandise like Karaoke Piccolo figurines and Godku toys.

I'd be thrilled if this set any kind of box office record; and while it seems unlikely, I haven't quite ruled it out yet. DBZ has the advantage of receiving a "Super-Wide Release" as well as being the first Japanese film to be screened in IMAX.

I haven't been this interested since Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith which was.... 8 years ago. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of box office record for an anime Dragon Ball could break. We might be looking at $100 million easily. Maximum for box office gross could be well over $150 miilion, if not $200 million. That is, of course, assuming the oversea box office is selling as well.

This movie is most likely not going to have any major release in theaters outside of Japan. Are you are living in a fan bubble if you really think that this movie is going to make 200 million world wide.

Can't believe we're just weeks away from this thing. Before ya' know it, everyone's searching the net for clips or uploads, summaries not doing them justice. I, for one, will probably try, try, TRY to be patient enough for Funi to get to work on it.

I'm surprised people are so anxious to spoil themselves about everything before the movie even comes out. I mean, does nobody want to experience movies anymore? Don't get me wrong, I'm excited by these little teasers as well. But hoping to have every plot point revealed via merchandise or soundtrack listings just doesn't sound fulfilling to me. I'm actually proud of Toei for being so tight-lipped about the full story; it's done wonders toward building hype.

I'm not overly invested in how much it makes worldwide (I mean, it's DB, and I obviously like DB so I want it to do well...) what I want most is for it to be enjoyable.

Also remembered that Sailor Moon's final form had wings too. I feel like I recall there was a whole episode poking fun at how hard it was to move around like that.

They can. We are talking about fans all over the worlds. It's no Avatar, but they still can earn highest gross avenue for an anime ever. It's not imosspible. $200 million could be maximum for all we know.

Goku gets the best street clothes/alternate outfits. It makes so much sense he's in a track suit I have to wonder if there's artwork out there I've never seen with him wearing something similar.
