Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

A few vital things I noticed:

- Karaoke Piccolo effin' CONFIRMED.
- Whis rushing something, presumably to actually fight.
- Oozaru MIGHT be a symbolic showing, perhaps for Goku going Super Saiyan 3 like in the anime. But immediately afterwards was what looked like Bils reacting to it, so who knows?
- Mr. Boo getting pissed off and rushing Bils only to get easily kiai'd away.

I'm so happy I'm not the only one who noticed this. I wasn't sure how to react to that scene after first seeing it.

The fact that he's both in his Great Saiyaman uniform and that the scene completely lacks any context just adds to it. XD

This movie is most likely not going to have any major release in theaters outside of Japan. Are you are living in a fan bubble if you really think that this movie is going to make 200 million world wide.

They can. We are talking about fans all over the worlds. It's no Avatar, but they still can earn highest gross avenue for an anime ever. It's not imosspible. $200 million could be maximum for all we know.

The movie is most likely not going to have a major theatrical release since anime films don't tend to outside the Studio Ghibli movies and those barely make it on the Top 10 on their first week. It would be nice if this movie make a ton of money, but it won't happen. DBZ does have a large flowing across the world, but I don't think the money from all of those fans will reach 100 million or 200 million. This movie is only target to people who are fans of the show. When your movie has a limited target audience then you are not going to make a whole lot from it. So even if you add inflation it won't make really a very high amount.

Even though the new trailer is so freaking hard to follow, especially in low quality (which I'm still extremely thankful for), I'm loving everything I see so far. Still iffy on whether I really want a new Super Saiyan form, but everything else...I'm not sure I care anymore. I want this movie, NOW! xD

I'm kinda supprised seeing Buu getting hit back by that.
But then again Goku and Vegeta did both get lots of blows into him that sent him flying back but without any damage.

Also Goku in space?
wtf was all that bit about planet Namek blowing up then about?

Also those breif shots of Goku punching him as a SSJ1 then SSJ3 then back as SSJ1 ?

Near as I can tell Gokuu's rematch takes place in space and he opens the fight with a Kamehame-Ha, his dougi still intact. That's interesting, as I figured that was the fight's ending Kamehame-Ha.

Cutting and transitions. they simply transition or go into the next scene pretty quickly. So they might cut from the middle of the movie, to simply the beginning

the fight where ssj goku and birusu fight again(in which it looks more competitive) seems to be their 2nd or 3rd fight? And the space battle? While the one with SSJ3 goku seems to be where he got stomped(ala the movie description and birusu's finger of doom).

-I mean, there is the king Kai planet battle(goku gets stomped )
-battle on another planet or location(doesnt look like space) where birusu and goku fight more. goku seems to be putting up a fight. You see usuu or whatever his name is flying in the same location
-Space battle

I imagine she can't quite hear herself at her age so it's harder to judge her acting. That or we haven't even heard the delivery that will be used in the film.

What's going to suck the most about this movie is how long it will take Funimation to get this released ''IF'' they get it at all.

SSJGod is awesome news and will hopefully be bad ass. But Boo being swatted away like a fly caught my attention as well, holy shit.

Also Goku in the track suit is grate and hopefully will make to a video game oh and now we officially need a karaoke mini game in any future DB game too .

That trailer was AWESOME!

It looks to me like the Oozaru is symbolic. It also appears like the "super saiyan god" form is going to utilize blue ki or a blue glow of some kind because blue bursts out when he begins to transform and Bills has a horrified look on his face in the glow of bright blue-white light.

Eh, I don't like Goku getting a new form. Especially when that puts him 2 ahead of Vegeta! The design might look cool, but I'm really not liking the idea.

On the other hand, if it's not a temporary power up it will contradict GT, which is nice :3

Holy shit, the news just exploded today, didn't it? Super Saiyan GOD? A mother-fucking trailer with all new footage? Hell yeah! They seem to be releasing tidbits at a pretty good pace; just as the discussion of the latest revelation starts to die down, they go and slice off another little chunk of news to feed to us ravenous beasts

I'm curious to see what the new Super Saiyan God form looks like. I don't even think I can speculate. There were shots of Oozaru, and mentions of wings, so...winged Oozaru? That'd be one huge flying monkey! Chuquita mentioned earlier about Sailor Moon's final outfit having wings, so right now I'm picturing Gokuu wearing the Eternal Sailor Moon costume Fanart of this must surely exist somewhere already...(surprised I didn't draw it myself; I made a number of Sailor Moon parody images for various anime back in my younger days, usually involving male characters in Sailor costumes)

I should go to bed, but this new trailer has me too amped up now! I liked seeing the brief shot of Vegeta and Bulma, even though it was just him sitting there looking beat up. I hope they have fun with those two like they did in the JSAT special where they argued over whose fault it was that Trunks turned out the way he did.

The Piccolo karaoke is highly intriguing. I wonder if he just did it because Gohan insisted ('cause maybe Gohan likes karaoke now, even after being forced to sing romantic karaoke duets with his mom as a child), or if alcohol played a role. Sure, Namekians only drink water, but what if Piccolo drank a glass of clear liquid that turned out NOT to be water, but vodka? He gets up on the stage, drunkenly slurring, "I was more of a father to Gohan than Gokuu EVER was!"

The amount of times i've watched the trailer now is unhealthy.
I wonder how Goku gets his new form, in the trailer he looks like he gets it from just getting pissed maybe, and it looks like it happened during a battle. I wonder if fighting Birusu triggered something in Goku, that only fighting Birusu could trigger.
