I'm really hoping that this "Super Saiyan God" form ISN'T something that will overshadow or disallow for Super Saiyan 4 down the line. Not just because I don't need more GTR complications, either, but also because this movie has a lot more potential for reconciling some of the "problems" with GT and bridging the gap between it and Z, rather than just pretending it doesn't exist.

Well, that depends on if he keeps the ability to turn into this form at the end, or if there are specific conditions to be met.

If he does keept it without any sort of restriction, then it will create some more incoherences with GT.
But at the same time, if he does keep his "God" status, it will also explain the so-far weird "Goku seems to be eternal" elements at the end of GT, basically stating that he IS a God much like Yi Shenron suspected.

So it will both help and damage consistancy with GT in that case, settling the "Goku seems to be somewhat immortal, having some sort of Godly status" but casting a shadow on his "Super Saiyan 4" form.
I mean, even just by name, when a simple number is replaced by the notion of "God", one would pretty much expect that even "Super Saiyan 7" would be no match for "Super Saiyan GOD".
So we'll see when we have all the details revealed about that form (probably only once the movie's been shown).

I hope it's a temporary form. I rather like DBOnline's concept of Goku and Vegeta duking it out in the stars for one last time before their death from old age. Such a final duel wouldn't make sense if Goku has permanent access to this form (unless Vegeta has it too but that would be even lamer).

Someone who has watched it more recently can probably give a better answer, but flipping back over my notes from when I watched that episode subbed, all I have a note on about Pan's reaction is -

Pan: I-It looks cool!

- and then the notes continue onward. I could have just not made a note of it, but I'd think I would have caught her calling him that and juxtaposed it against where Goku was going to 'end up' at the end of GT or something, as a curiosity.

Dragon Ball anime movie is said to be a whopping 17 years! Participate from storytelling is an attempt for the first time in animation because I was so far basically all Omakase. To express a pinch of heroes has become strong to the point where the keyword for this called "God Super Saiyan" and "birrus God of Destruction" is a proposal towards the writer, that, no more idea very nice was. I think the original story and setting assumes decide to make the character of birrus First, there was a continuation in the series. God of Destruction birrus also drew this unusual design on a voluntary basis, is overwhelmingly strong and fearsome opponent beyond the further dimension of the enemy ever. Not to the content of my dark features, however. I'm happy to work with such a fun and I finished at least.
Battle scene is the highlight of the second half, especially by the way! I was impressed with the representation beyond the expected. Japanese animation but I was truly excellent! Staffs were really cheers for hard work! ! Please enjoy the Dragon Ball So after a long time!

Which would explain why a golden Shenron appears and attacks the opponent when he uses his Dragon Fist attack (maybe this movie is placed before Wrath of the Dragon) and his special link with Shenron at the end of GT.

As stated, that line ("Grandpa, it's like you're God!") was actually said when Goku made the universal Spirit Bomb, and it was probably one of the most wham-tastic bizarre things ever said in GT. I really wish to know why the scriptwriter thought that was a good idea.

When Prometheus was coming out and that it was going to ignore the AVP movies, people were happy. When this movie is coming out and with the writers saying that they don't view GT as apart of the original story and flowing the manga for once, people bitched about it .

There are those of us too though that, for all it's faults, do like to try and tie GT in together with the story as a whole, since it does have some pretty good ideas in there. And the implications of this new form could possibly make that even harder than it was before, that's all.

Super Saiyan God wasn't created by Toriyama either. If I understand his comment correctly, it's Yūsuke Watanabe's idea, as well the whole God concept. Toriyama only designed the characters.

It might be overly simplistic, but when reading "One More Saiyan" or "Another Saiyan", I didn't take it as a new Saiyan at all!
To me, it's likely because Birus has beaten all other Saiyans and thinks he has definately won, and that's when Goku shows up for the final re-match, showing that there's "another Saiyan" left (or "one more Saiyan" now standing before him) before it's all over.
But we'll see! That's my bet at least, I think "One More Saiyan" is simply meant to be "I thought I was done here, but it seems there's one more Saiyan / another Saiyan I have to take care of in the end". And - how unlucky for him - that Saiyan turns out to be the supreme Saiyan.

That's certainly an interesting read of the title. My initial guess was Gohan steppin' up to bat, but then the placment of that track seemed to be a little further ahead of the tracks where Vegeta fights. I'm beginning to wonder how long this movie is. Over fourty tracks is a hell of a lot of music...

Actually, based on all the talk in V-Jump making it sound like this is what the legend was talking about the whole time, I wouldn't have been surprised if they had named it "Legendary Super Saiyan"...but they kind of wrote themselves into a corner with Broli years ago. xD
