Normally I would too, but the only thing that's giving me (almost non-existent) pause is Drummond's comment about "re-doing some lines."Kendamu wrote:I'm not even gonna wait that long. I take that as him coming in to redo previously recorded lines on Kai.

Hard to say. He doesn't want to spill the all the beans as, you know, he could lose his job! But he's talked openly that he has done lines for DBZ (Kai?) again. so something Ocean dub is bound to come out.KingofWisdom wrote:I take that as him coming in to redo previously recorded lines on Kai.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
Okay, had a short conversation with a specific voice actor, like 1 minute but I had to ask!
These are the details:
They are definitely doing Kai. Specifically stated KAI!
Ocean is "wrapping up the last couple of episodes. It's the last package of them."
Something will be "coming up soon", within a couple of months I presume.
Also, I asked about this rumour of a new DVD called the broadcast version of DBZ. You didn't hear it from me or Ocean, but rumour is, "they are good rumours."
However, I'm not too sure about the production side as I heard that "production's doing things on their own."
So... the DVD COULD be false. Or at least the cover. But the release seems to be at the right time. March-July maybe; a specific time was not told to me even though I asked that rumours are it's coming out in March/July. "They are good rumours."
EDIT: You didn't hear it from me or you know who

Haha! that's awesome Attitudefan!

Well thanks again Attitudefan for going out of your way to get this info. I wonder if by 'last package' does he mean the Boo arc. If that's the case Funimation must be around that stage too. Regardless, it looks like we won't have much longer to wait for Ocean Kai.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
I theorized a while back that part of the reason this was taking as long as it was was because they were waiting to release the dub until they had dubbed every episode, and the more info we get, the more that seems to be the case. FUNimation released their dubbed episodes at a comparatively faster pace, probably because there was a TV network involved demanding episodes to be ready to go by a certain date (among other factors).

You're welcome guys! It's not always easy to ask/demand what's going on. I'm sure he doesn't always appreciate it, 'specially at the gym. However, the "last package" also got me to think that they are dubbing the Buu arc too. We'll see.

I'm really excited about this, I hope it's good. I'm sure we can except the same level of acting as Ocean's dub of the first 53 episodes of Z at least, and since they're putting lots of effort into the "nah-mek" thing and stuff, we can pretty sure the script will be good too.

I believe that you're being 100% sincere with this Attitudefan! I would see no reason to lie and I've had a personal expierence (though via Twitter) of him replying what I said. I said the usual "Big fan of your work, one of the people that inspiried me to try VAing, and hopefully at some point I could show you my Ryuk impression since we know it isn't the easiest voice to do." (Paraphrased a bit, but included all of that.)
Then a day later he Direct Messaged me saying "Look forward to hearing that Ryuk some day. #KeepWorkingHard"
Haha, I was so happy when I saw that in the inbox.
It has nothing to do with that message, but not too long after that he said on Twitter "Thanks to multiple hours voicing a certain anime character today. larynx=hamburger. Ow. Ow. Owwww. #TGIF #nuffsaid"
So, that's a safe assumption of Vegeta/DBZ.
But, case in point, I believe what you're saying about all of this.

Some of these VAs are really nice people. I too once left a similar "fan of your work" comment on Dameon Clarke's YouTube profile, and got a comment back saying...SSJ4 Furanki wrote:I believe that you're being 100% sincere with this Attitudefan! "Hey, thanks man, I really appreciate that--and I can't wait for you to kick all kinds of ass on your voice acting career!"
Now, to be clear, he was just being nice. This was before I actually did become a voice actor, and at the time, my YouTube profile simply stated that I was an "aspiring" voice actor. Still, that didn't lower the coolness factor of it. I went around all day yelling, "GUYS, F***ING CELL JUST BLESSED MY VOICE-OVER CAREER!"
It really is a shame that Clarke didn't get to come back for Kai.....
Okay, sorry to get too off-topic. Just figured I'd add that little story in since we're talking about nice/interactive voice actors.

If I lied, I would look bad, and why would I do that? I'm trying to help the fandom too you know! I would never make things up like that. EVER. I hate when people do. I usually take people's word for truth, and my sister makes fun of me all the time for being naive to people. Drummond is an awesome guy. You know, though, He did tell me he changed up his Vegeta a little, he said when he first started Z he strained his voice where he couldn't even talk for days, but you know if the directors wanted it as before, he will do it as before. I should really get twitter and bother him there xP He'd be like IT'S YOU! And I would be like YEAH

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
The Ocean voice actors are really memorable and it would be great to see their take on Kai. If Brian uses a natural sounding voice for Vegeta like Ryo Horikawa, we would have the perfect Vegeta and also his screams were fantastic and got angry when needed.

If he does sort of his Zechs voice but sometimes slips into his old Vegeta voice when the scene calls for it, then that'll be really cool.Attitudefan wrote:If I lied, I would look bad, and why would I do that? I hope he doesn't sound too different to his old Vegeta voice. It would be awesome if he did what Sabat did, downplay his performance a bit but ad some new parts to it while overall still keeping faithful to his original voice.
Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
Here's an unlikely thought/hope... Maybe the reason they're taking an insanely long time is that they're also dubbing Dragon Ball, or a Kai-like cut of it. Hey, I can dream about a consistent version, right?

I do. I never cared for that chain-smoker, biker-gang, evil imp, whatever the hell he going for voice. It's much too nasally, gravelly, and over-the-top Saturday morning cartoon-ish for the proud Saiyan prince. He should use a voice closer to that of his Zech voice or not bother at all.ringworm128 wrote:I hope he doesn't sound too different to his old Vegeta voice.

Does anyone have a clip of his Zechs voice? I'm curious to hear it.
