See, that's the thing. He isn't speculating the potential effects Battle of Gods will have on other aspects of the franchise.

And that's off topic because? It still involves the Battle of the Gods so I fail to see what's wrong with this post.

I hope Super Saiyan God is a form that brings in some physical changes, not just a power-up.

After all, the tracklist mentions immediately Goku going God Super Saiyan and THEN having trouble.
When we see what appears to be his transformation into Super Saiyan God, he starts from base form in the trailer, right? This could hint that immediately after their calm chat, he starts the fight by turning into his new form.
But then, in the previous trailer, when we see him having troubles during the battle - as mentionned by a track AFTER the tracks about his new transformation - against the Freezer-like giant ball, he looks like a regular Super Saiyan.

So, we'll see, but I do hope it goes with some physical changes post-transformation.
The aura associated with it seems to be blue, which is reminiscent of how Toriyama wanted his Super Saiyans on the Kanzenban covers.

Anyway, I'm glad that we'll likely find out about an alternative, ultimate author-approved Super Saiyan form - if it is permanent of course.
Almost kind of like a "manga version of Super Saiyan 4, rather named Super Saiyan God".
The step above Super Saiyan 3, just like Toriyama designed as if continuing his series.

Vegeta said several times that Goku had become a Super Saiyan while watching him facing the Ginyu Force, while Goku was still in his base form. What if the Super Saiyan God was just Goku in his base form but with a blue aura around him and acting like Gohan in his Ultimate state. I think it'll looks cool, no more blond guy as Toriyama decided near the end of the manga

This is my first post here.
Before coming back to look at this thread I decided I was gonna take up the challenge of translating the small piece my self, but found it difficult!!
I am a BA Japanese & Korean student at The School of Oriental and African Studies (a small constituent member of the University of London) but have only studied Japanese for just over a year, (and Korean even less) so encountered a few situations where I found parts ambiguous or confusing, especially due to new unlearned grammar. I came back here but it had already been translated.

This is what I ended up with, you can see where I need to work harder.

After a period of 17 years, it seems to be a Dragonball anime film!

For me this is a first time attempt of participation through the story production, because until now for the animations, in general, I fundamentally left decisions to others. This time, the named buzzwords “the god of destruction Birusu” and “Super Saiyan god” were the scriptwriter’s idea but that is not all, representing what can be summed up as the predicament of the protagonists that have become strong was a very good idea. It would be a nice addition if they ended the film with Goku wearing his blue outfit that we see at the end of the series. Perhaps they could even explain the change.

I read Julian's translation of the track listing and noticed a mistake. It says 21. Birusu’s Counteroffensive, but the original listing says 逆鱗 (gekirin = anger, wrath), so it's obviously wrong. He must have misread 逆鱗 as 逆襲 (gyakushuu = counterattack). *Now fixed. Thanks!

I do wonder though, is this god form Goku exclusive or will it be obtainable for characters like Vegeta? I'd assume not but the Vegeta fan in me really wants to see SSJ God Vegeta .

Well, at least SSJ3 for Vegeta will be nice.... Even Buu arc loser Gohan got damn powerfull transformation, which degraded Vegeta into being boxing bag for Buu.

I really hope it goes like this. Bils comes, kicks everyone's ass including SS3 Goku the hero. He says he'll be back and they all start training like crazy, during this time Vegeta achieves SS3 and challenges Goku to a duel, cocky with his new power. They use the Dragon Balls to grant them the ability to live without air and they go into space to fight, but during so Bils shows up and is impressed by how much they've improved in such a short time. Goku and Vegeta double team Bils in their SS3 states but they are still completely outmatched by Bils god-like power. Bils becomes tired of messing with them and is about to destroy Earth when Goku and Vegeta fuse into Gogeta in the last minute, becoming SS3 Gogeta, and deflect Bils attack back at him. After the flash from the explosion fades, Bils is seen somewhat surprised by the appearance of the new warrior and a more even battle commences. Gogeta seems to be gaining the upper hand with the combined power of the SS3s, but Bils has another trick up his sleeve. The God of Destruction reveals his full power, in which a dark-purple luminous energy envelops his body taking the shape of a spiky cat-like demon creature. In this form Bils warns he cannot control his appetite for destruction, and will probably end up destroying the entire universe, as he laughs maniacally.

SS3 Gogeta is completely outclassed by Bils' new form and fueled by desperation, he calls upon the help of everyone in the universe to share their energy. Unable to materialize a Spirit Bomb due to Vegeta's impurity, Gogeta absorbs the energy into his body, which barely keeps him alive while getting beaten by the almighty Super Bils. Suddenly, fueled by desperation, the power of the Super Saiyan God erupts, Gogeta sprouts angelic wings, and achieves the legendary form. Fear strike Bils' glowing eyes as the mighty God of Light shines before him, and the fight plays out similar to how SS Goku vs Frieza's did. At some point, the SSG and Bils' ultimate attacks collide, and the collision of energy creates a black hole. Right before Bils is destroyed however, the fusion ends. and Goku and Vegeta revert to their base forms. A weakened Bils, now back in his original form, attempts to take advantage of the situation, fatally wounding the already battered Vegeta, but Goku is able to finish him off with Super Dragon Fist using the energy collected from the residents of the universe previously, launching the wounded God of Destruction into the nearby black hole created towards the end of their fight. Goku uses instant transmission to return himself and a dying Vegeta back to Earth before being pulled into the black hole themselves, where they give Vegeta a senzu bean and pledge to use the Dragon Balls to repair the damage done to the galaxy after the waiting time is over. Little do they know, negative energy has been building inside the Dragon Balls with their continuous use, and an even deadlier ancient threat has yet to be awakened...

Well it looks like I was right, Goku gets a God upgrade. I also think defeating a God of Destruction is going to attract a lot of attention to Goku, possibly from other Gods of Destruction. New series anyone? They could have Kai continue after the Z episodes, they wouldn't even need to make a new title.

Or they could just clean up the Dragon Box footage...

Eh, I think I'd rather have new stories...and I actually prefer Kai over the original series, all that filler made it frustrating to watch at times.
