They look at each other for 2 seconds, smile at each other, fuse and help each other and suddenly it's seen as true love. I have no problem with people that like this couple, just a problem with p*ss poor, 'bottom of the barrel and through to the floor' evidence.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I think Ten, and possibly Yamcha rivalled or surpassed Krillin. More so, Ten, as they both trained 10x Earth normal gravity for a while. Ten was there a year and a half! Watching that filler of them taking on Piccolo is one of the best episodes, even if it is filler, as it is in good humour and exciting, and is totally plausible.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Yamcha was there for less time than Goku (136 days), and Tenshinhan wasn't there for a full year (266 days). I could see Tenshinhan catching up with Kuririn's Namek power up and rivalling him thanks to that, but I'm less sure about Yamcha.Attitudefan wrote:I think Ten, and possibly Yamcha rivalled or surpassed Krillin. Okay, thanks for the correction. I was just trying to pull it out of memory. Yamcha, maybe not but he did have sparring partners such as Ten, and Piccolo. I think that did help.Bussani wrote:Yamcha was there for less time than Goku (136 days), and Tenshinhan wasn't there for a full year (266 days). Krillin never had the luxury of training with intense gravity, and it's pretty cool that the Earthlings caught on quicker than Goku! Also, Because of that, I think that could have unlocked great powers within Tenshinhan! He was constantly training whereas Krillin was not. Not only that, Krillin was dead for awhile without a body, where Ten was training.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I pretty much reckon my opinions are gonna be unpopular!!
- Movie #7 was my favourite. I really liked the whole Jinzouningen arc up until Cell's final transformation, this was my favourite segment.
- I don't have a problem with the Majin Buu arc (people not liking this seems to be mentioned a few times)
- I liked the Dr. Slump segments in Dragonball, and I liked the Dragonball "cross-overs" in Neko Majin Z.
- I am happy to accept the events of Episode of Bardock.
- Haha, Yamcha is one of my favourite characters!! Yes, I know he ends up useless fast.
Regarding GT, it is alright. I wouldn't view it as a "continuation proper" and elements of it are hit and miss, but aesthetically I thought it had some really good (amongst some poor) character designs and ideas in there. In my opinion Luud is a really good design, and I like the designs and concepts of Super #17 and Baby (although I don't particularly care about his shounentai form design). I didn't like Gotenks' clothes choice.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Action is my least favourite part of the series (not including the really bad filler segments), I usually only enjoy fights for the plot stuff that's going on during the fight, or emotional struggles when they're there. Fights are much more enjoyable in Kai, but some still drag a teeny bit too much for me, and Kai cuts out a lot of the characters just chilling and stuff, which I like.

The only FUNi dub I seem to enjoy now is the GT English Dub. Just randomly realized with the Green Bricks I can watch it with the Japanese score yesterday.
I enjoyed the FUNi Z dub back when I was a kid but I can't get back into nor the Dragonball dub for some reason. But GT's English dub is nostalgic for me, maybe because it was also the first TV series I collected.

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

The acting from funny was better in GT. For most of DBZ they were terrible. Either copying the ocean cast or trying to find their identities as the characters.DBZ Mick wrote:The only FUNi dub I seem to enjoy now is the GT English Dub. I think king kai has funny jokes. Don't really know how unpopular this opinion is though.
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I'd think it would be funny if during the movie he tries to steal jokes from a book. Except he picks out bad ones and fails miserably.shreddinghead wrote:I think king kai has funny jokes. Don't really know how unpopular this opinion is though.

I find Kaio's puns funny too.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I hate when DBZ stuff gets away with having a lackluster plot by introducing fiercer villains who blow more crap up. My cynical side tells me that that hits Battle of Gods on the head. The whole Super Saiyan God thing has killed most of the joy I had for this. The form could work if the writing is good enough, but I don't think it will be. Honestly, I would have preferred something bland and predictable.
I like the Japanese voice overs of Dragon Ball material more than the English dubs, but I don't feel as though the Japanese cast poops gold.
I say that just because it sorta bums me out when people spit poison at the dubs, even though these very dubs can be frustrating to me too.

"Over saturation is easy. Just drag the slider to the right and there you are: instant interest. And certainly, the majority of the public likes saturated color images. In fact, if you want to quickly create a popular image, simply over saturate the colors and increase the contrast. While you may not achieve a sophisticated image, you will achieve an image that will please a less demanding audience." - Alain Briot

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I reckon they could easily pull off Chouzu in live action, if they can pull off Gollem from LOTR they certainly do Chouzu,
Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I like the funimation dub better than the original japanese. Mostly because of the voice actors, I loathe the Japanese voice actors especially Goku/Gohan/Goten/Bardock. I like Vegeta's japanese voice though, he's an exception.
Hercule(s) is a better fit for "Mark's" character than Mr. Satan. Even if we accept "well he's a wrestler and that's his wrestler name" is he supposed to be playing a villain character in his matches? It doesn't make sense for the "world's savior" hero to have that name.

The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

I see it as more of an ironic thing. Him being the "savior" of the world is why he has that name, that's the joke. IMO, anyway.soduh2 wrote: (the H-word)(s) is a better fit for "Mark's" character than Mr. Satan. I prefer Kai dubbed. And the only problems I have with the Z dub are the script/music changes.....granted, that is a lot.
I also prefer the GT ending to the Z ending.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I just started thinking. In regards to the more "controversial" in-universe debates, like "Was Gohan SSj2 against Dabura?", "Evil Buu vs Pure Buu", "Ultimate Gohan vs SSj3 Goku", and the like, which side in those debates are the more popular ones, and which are the more unpopular ones?
In no way trying to spark any of those debates here, but I was curious as to what the majority and minority were in them.

As stand-alone music, I prefer Yamamoto over Kikuchi, and as overall music suited for the series, I think Takaki's the best composer to ever grace this anime.
