Thoughts: Great start to the second arc! Kuririn seems like a little dick, but hey he's cool. I hope Bulma and the gang don't get left out though! And I'd like to see Pilaf again! It would be really interesting to see how strong Goku can really get. I mean without his tail he's not as strong but oh well.
Predictions: Training? I mean they have to find a girl...no clue who it will be..Bulma? Is she a gal for Kame-sen'nin?
Your reactions to the episodes so far feel like a trip down memory lane for me back when I was new to the original manga. I really hope you enjoy it from here on out.It's just fresh, you know? Reading about someone who's just experiencing the series for the first time and isn't all caught up on the mythos surrounding the series if you know what I mean. After years in the fandom you sort of feel like there really isn't much left to surprise you.

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
