DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!

Seeing these images make me very sad inside. The fact that Sal shipping from Japan takes forever, is really breath taking.

When did you buy yours? I used Sal also and it took about a month

I brought mine of the 5th of February ( still not here). I don't know how but, Sal shipping a few years ago used to be quicker. Like one time before it got here in 15 days.

Wow. I brought mine on January 28th and mines shipped on the 5th. I sure hope the wait is worth it ( which i have no doubt in my mind).

Trust me, I know exactly how you feel about that. Importing from japan got more expensive over the years and certainly isn't cheap. That's why i chose SAL because a few years ago, i used to use air mail from CD JAPAN, but prices went up. I think for the Frieza saga, ill stick with SAL, being that there's gonna be like 5 volumes of it.

Me too. Frieza saga is my favorite saga in DBZ. As for yahoo auctions, I used them a while back and i agree that it was extremely expensive. Luckily i found CD Japan for help. I do however hope the ssj hair is correct color. I do understand that this is based on manga colors, but i would love variety, especially when it comes to the colors.

I'm really looking forward to Freeza saga!

That's when we'll know more about special effects.
Right now, we know most energy beam are golden, but with the Freezer saga, we'll know what flying aura is like.
In the Saiyan invasion, if I'm not mistaken, the only flying aura we have is when Vegeta flies up to shoot his Garlic Cannon, and since his aura is linked to his attack, it's likely golden.
But will they leave flying auras white or color them as well? And if they do color them, will it be golden too, or blue, or what?
The answer once the Freezer saga starts!! (hopefully soon)

I do however hope the ssj hair is correct color. I do understand that this is based on manga colors, but i would love variety, especially when it comes to the colors.

I think we can safely assume it's gonna be blond hair, they wouldn't change that!
However, what we can wonder about is the aura. Will it be left as immaculate white or be golden like the beams or even blue like the Kanzenban (I don't think they take it into account, but maybe they'll want to capitalize on the Super Saiyan God's blue aura too...).

In any case, if it's anime-inspired and therefore golden (probably golden like the beams), it will look much better than the anime's golden version, not only because that manga golden effect is already really impressive with the beams, but also because of the filled flame-like appearance of the manga Super Saiyan aura rather than the transparent "propelled gas"-like appearance of the anime.

No, not really. There was no way they were going to re-translate the series. It's wishful thinking though.

Do you mean the one running digitally in Weekly Shonen Jump? If so, yes, reps from Viz have stated they aren't editing any of the art (for any series) while running in WSJ.

Yeah, just kinda makes me roll my eyes. It makes it really stick out and clear that these were translated in a very different time in US manga history.
