European Shin Budokai news
I just checked Amazon.co.uk, and Shin Budokai will be released on the 21st of April and it looks like we're getting the Japanese boxart. Glad to finally hear a release date (though I wish it was out a week earlier).

Not just that, but they got the original vocal openings to Budokai 2 and 3 AND they got Advance Adventure long before we ever will. T___Tunstable_person99 wrote:Argh! Why do you guys get to have the original cover while we Americans get the crappy Atari one?!
Oh right, didn't Europe also get the Collector's Edition with Japanese voices included for Budokai 3 first?
Wait, they ALSO got the original Sparking! cover (with the Sparking! logo changed to "Budokai Tenkaichi").
Damn you, Atari. >:O

Don't forget that Budokai 1 had Japanese voices (though we didn't have an option to turn them into English) and the GameCube version of Budokai 2 had the Japanese track as well as the English one and Goku and Piccolo's extra costumes from the Japanese version (NSS if the American version of GC Budokai 2 had the same features). Finally, we didn't get Saga.Tsukento wrote:Not just that, but they got the original vocal openings to Budokai 2 and 3 AND they got Advance Adventure long before we ever will. Great, now I'm more tempted at importing. More money going down the tube for Dragon Ball products normally not available to me. >__>Caracal wrote:Don't forget that Budokai 1 had Japanese voices (though we didn't have an option to turn them into English) and the GameCube version of Budokai 2 had the Japanese track as well as the English one and Goku and Piccolo's extra costumes from the Japanese version (NSS if the American version of GC Budokai 2 had the same features). The PSP is supposedly region free, correct? Meaning I can import for it without need of some boot disc or converter? I just imported Advanced Adventure from a British game store to get that game when I wanted it for GBA 6 months ago. If Shin Budokai gets any features/characters that North America doesn't get, then I might just wait and get it instead. (Provided that PSP is region free of course.)
Yup, PSP is region free when talking about games - meaning you can play any game released in any country on any PSP. The only problem is that if you have a PAL (Europe and some other countries) Shin Budokai you can't play against a player with an NTSC (U.S.) copy of the game.
In other words, Ad Hoc mode (Wireless Multiplayer) works only for the same region.
Regarding movies, though, it's a different thing completely. UMD movies are region protected so in the U.S you can only watch Region 1 films.

It's funny that since Sparking!, we have been getting the original Japanese cover art for the video games and Japanese voices(Even Advanced Adventure had the seiyuu in the European version!)
List of reasons why we are better off than the US:
1. Original Japanese cover art for the video games.
2. Original Japanese seiyuu in video games.
3. We got the Ocean Group for all of the TV series!
4. We got Advanced Adventure befor you!! And even now it's still being delayed!! Oh, and by the way, it is the best handheld Dragon Ball game I have ever played. And I have played about 90% of them.
Unicorn!

That's in the UK. Other countries in Europe get their own dubbing teams. Personally, I've grown up with the Italian dub, which is one of the best there are along with the Spanish one.3. We got the Ocean Group for all of the TV series!
Oh, and we're not always that lucky, you know? For the first Budokai we had a CG intro movie - which was all nice - but the NTSC version of the game had a CG animated Cha-la Head-cha-la intro. I wish we had that movie instead of the one we got.
