US Manga release question

Post by Tullece » Wed Feb 27, 2013 11:24 pm

Has viz ever released a completely uncensored version of the manga? and if not is there any way of maybe importing from another country that has it translated in English but not censored? Because Dragonball is one of my favorite manga and Id love to have the whole series uncensored.

As far as I know there is no English translated uncensored physical release. What I do is have the Japanese uncensored with my English version right next to it. Not only do I get to read it uncensored but its fun to spot the censoring differences! What an enjoyable Friday night

Some of the early volumes were released uncensored (with an "age 13 & up" label), in the larger format prior to the American Shonen Jump. It didn't last long, though. :|

Isn't the pre-DBZ portion uncensored? I know my copies, from the box set, have naked bits and all that.

The pre-Z depending on which release you get, is almost completely to the point that if you did't know there was censoring, you wouldn't know.

In my supposedly "uncensored" DBZ vol. 1, they still erased the word "CHEVROLET" from the farmer's truck.

Oddly enough, they left it in for the colored version that just came out through Shonen Jump.
