If the pictures are this size, then the first one is definately easier to see.
For example, if Kaio didn't have the Kanzenban costume but an exclusive costume, it would be harder to tell about the lines on his clothes (one yellow, one orange) with the further camera.
Besides, apparently the only detail missing with those mirrored close-ups are the shoes, and those won't have many occasions to appear on the recolored render pictures! 8)
I'll never say it enough, but amazing job on that HUGE collection of pictures I refer to!

Absolutely, it is an official palette swap, so it's on my to-do list!

Also, Tao Pai-Pai wore a palette swap of blue in Dragonball movie 3. I actually like the outfit a lot.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

UPDATE: C-16 / GINYU / REACUM / SON GOHAN / SON GOKU / TEN SHIN HAN

CORRECTION:

Gohan's Anime version was wrong (the symbol had a colored circle when it's actually black in the anime). This has been fixed.
ImageImage
(LEFT: Wrong picture / RIGHT: Corrected picture).
I don't mention it in the descriptions (cause I would have to repeat it over and over), but if you play many old-gen 2D games - or watch pictures of them in DNA's gallery), you'll notice they choose to erase any sign like the Kame Sen symbol on Goku's gi, the Commando Ginyu sign on Ginyu and Reacum's armors (as well as their scouters), the Red Ribon symbol on C-16's armor, and other examples like that. As you'll probably guess, this is to make the mirrored sprite more natural. Otherwise, depending on the player's position, the symbol would appear to teleport from one side to another, and sometimes be backwards too.

C-16:

ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Super Butoden version. The alternative costume for this Super NES video game shows a much greener shade of green.
3) Buyu Retsuden version. An alternative costume for this game, showing an orangy yellow tint for the armor, and a black suit (slightly blue-tinted, which is very obvious when comparing to the announcer's black outfit).
4) Ultimate Battle 22 version. The alternative appearance for this game shows a blue armor, with black (subtly turquoise-shaded) suit.
4) Budokai version N°1. The base outfit for this game has the suit being unusually blue.
5) Budokai version N°2. The alternative costume for this game displays the armor in a dark grey shade, while still retaining the blue suit.
6) Budokai 3 version. This time, the suit is back to normal black, and the alternative outfit for this game shows a much brighter grey color for the armor.

GINYU:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Kanzenban version. Ginyu shows a darker purple than on the anime. His scouter is now blue. The line on the side of the scouter is blue as well, but there is also supposed to be a red button which only appears on the "Goku possessed" picture down below. Note that the scouters belonging to Commando Ginyu are different than the one from Raditz, keeping their white color and various colors for lines and buttons, while Raditz' scouter is all dark grey, possibly hinting at a lower quality.
3) Dragon Ball Z (Arcade) version. A greenish skin for this game's alternative appearance, it does give a different "classic alien" feeling to the character. The scouter does not appear in-game.

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Chapter 287 version. In the color pages of this manga chapter, Goku appears in his usual manga color scheme, but the scouter is unusually depicted as yellow. Counting anime and manga, the scouters will end up having as much color variations as lightsabers!
3) Kanzenban would-be version. Goku wears orange and has Ginyu's new Kanzenban scouter.

REACUM:

ImageImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Dragon Ball Z (Arcade) version. You're not dreaming, and you probably never thought of it: Reacum has green hair for the alternate version of this video game. Note that the in-game version does not wear the armor, and it is unknown how it would be affected. The suit itself has a slight blue tint, ultimately making it a different grey than his original sprite, but it's much more subtle than his hair change as you can see on the pictures above. The scouter does not appear in-game.
3) Buyu Retsuden version. An alternative appearance for this game, still going with the recolored hair concept. It's pink/purple this time, with a yellowish green - or greenish yellow - armor. And you may not see it with this small picture, but his eyes are blue in this game! The scouter does not appear in-game.
4) Ultimate Battle 22 version. No change in his outfit for this video game's alternative look, recolored indigo hair seemed more than enough to the staff. Note how his suit is pitch black in this game (for the base appearance too), without the slightest reflection. The scouter does not appear in-game.

SON GOHAN:

ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Full-Color manga version. Using a lot of the anime colors, but the manga staff apparently had another opinion on what looked best for his hat, totally changing the color scheme for it. The symbol is different too, written in black with a colored circles unlike the anime, but like all other manga versions. Note that the hat and symbol could both be specifically borrowed from the "Daizenshuu 108 & 110 version", the one Toriyama used twice during the origina run. Some will argue that it takes away variety by taking out the big red part of the suit, while others - like me - will enjoy the more coherent feel that it gives (keeping the hat in line with the clothes).
3) Daizenshuu 108 & 110 version (with Kanzenban touch). From two artworks by Toriyama appearing on the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Features a ketchup-like orange-gone-almost-red top, with green for the under-clothes and hat. The tail has been adapted to the Kanzenban tone.
4) Daizenshuu 121 version. Used in the title page for chapter 228. Blue for the top, indigo for the under-clothes and hat.
5) Daizenshuu 122 version. From an artwork by Toriyama used as a poster. A pinkish purple tone for the under-clothes and hat while the top is blue.
6) Daizenshuu 130 version (with Kanzenban touch). From an artwork by Toriyama used in a 1989 WJ calendar. Apple green for the top, indigo/blue for the under-clothes. The tail has been adapted to the Kanzenban tone.
7) Daizenshuu 207 version (with Kanzenban touch). The latest representation of baby Gohan appears in the title page for chapter 404, when the young teenager prepares to fight Cell, showing his evolution so far. The tail has been adapted to the Kanzenban tone.

ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImage
1) Anime / Kanzenban version. Red belt and red wrists, likely to mimic Piccolo's belt and natural wrists.
2) Original Manga version. For years, Toriyama had Gohan wearing blue wrists, possibly so that he would display some "Goku-like" part on his outfit.
3) Daizenshuu 112 & 114 version. In two artworks made by Toriyama for WJ, Gohan has purple wrists, fitting his outfit's main color.
4) Daizenshuu 125 & Daizenshuu Volume 7 version. A big change for Gohan, but originally used only once for the fully-colored pages in chapter 238, as well as the title page. It does reappear in the seventh Daizenshuu though. Here Gohan had the outfit from his master, but Piccolo apparently gave him another color as a distinctive sign. He also has Goku's blue for the wrists, distinguishing him from Piccolo even more.
5) Dragon Ball Z (Arcade) version. This alternative costume is reminiscent of Goku's gi, but does keep its own marks like the white collar, white wrists and a red belt. The bandana does not appear in-game.
6) Burst Limit version. The alternative oufit for this video game has Gohan wearing turquoise with dark orange wrists and belt.
7) Ultimate Tenkaichi version. The base outfit for this video game is like the original manga version, but reversed: red wrists, but a blue belt. In the same game, the same outfit for Gohan when he's on Namek has both the wrirts and the belt red.

SON GOKU:

ImageImageImage
ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Last part of Dragon Ball Anime version. In the pre-Z original Dragon Ball series, as soon as Goku shows up all grown-up and gets his Kame Sen gi, his clothes change a bit: the under-shirt and the belt are both black. At the time, the Kame Sen symbol was also yellowish.
3) Original Manga / Full-Color Manga version. Goku's most famous outfit is not red, but orange in the manga. Different tints of this orange, sometimes going to yellow, were used throughout the artworks. All in all, Goku is supposed to wear the monks' colors according to Toriyama in the Daizenshu interview.
4) DBZ 2 Super Battle version. For this video game's alternative costume, the gi is immaculate white, with just a slight blue tint (only visible on shadows) that makes it look all the more bright white. The blue under-clothes are also much darker. I find this version pretty interesting, it gives an idea of a western-style Goku, where his outfit forgets about Shaolin influences and becomes more of a Karate costume. Note that the Kame Sen symbol does not appear in-game.
5) Burst Limit version. The alternative outfit for this video game shows a reversed color scheme for Goku, inverting the blue and orange, although not necessarily in the same shades.

TEN SHIN HAN:

ImageImage
1) Anime / Manga version.
2) Ultimate Battle 22 version. For the alternative costume in this video game, you just have to invert Ten's regular color scheme: red goes green, green goes red.

Love it! The Recoome hair colours are the best. Love those Tenshinhan recolours, don't forget Advanced Adventure! And you got a lot of work to do with Goku... XD Good luck!

In other news, I've got to do Shin Butouden and redo Budokai 3 and I'm done with the games I've got access to at the moment.

Edit: I just noticed a small mistake; 16's yellow armour is from Dragon Ball Z 2: Super Battle and not from Buyu Retsuden.

Well, aside from a few colours we know already I've noticed the following:
Vegeta with an orange Scouter, Tao Bai Bai I think it's just manga colours, Silver with orange hair, Nappa with a different coloured armour, I think there's some small differences in Murasaki, the Bear Thief is also different, orange Karin, green Buyon, palette swapped Pirate Robot, Bulma's blue bunny outfit and black Puar. There might be a few more but I'll leave that to Cold Skin.

What's the source of those pages, please? 8)

It does seem colored by Toriyama (especially when seeing he made Goku's outfit orange as always).
Some of the art is even featured in Daizenshuu volume 1.
Anyway, colored by Toriyama or not, as long as it's a valuable, official version from a valid source, it has a place in this thread! 8)

I forgot/made a mistake with Tao. He wore this blue version of what he wears in the anime when fighting Goku. It's a palette swap. (EDIT: it is from one of the best animated sequences I have ever seen)

UPDATE: BABIDI / CELL / GINYU / TAO PAI PAI / TRUNKS (ALTERNATIVE FUTURE) / ZABON

CORRECTION:

A fatal mistake has been spotted on the recolored renders made for Krilin: Toriyama always draws him with eyes that are similar to all other characters, instead of being skin-colored. Outrageous mistake fixed!!
ImageImage
ImageImage
(LEFT: Wrong pictures / RIGHT: Corrected pictures).
Despite belonging to the "CORRECTION" section, Krilin is also featured below so that you can directly see the more intense difference with the anime version now that the correction has been applied, along with one new sentence added to each of his descriptions to mention that additionnal difference.

BABIDI:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Kanzenban version. Babidi wears all-white clothes.
3) Super Butoden 3 version. An alternative costume for this game, showing a bright grey "skirt" (the Majin insigna is whiter in comparison), with a slightly more orangy red, and a brownish skin. Babidi appears only as a non-playable character in the intro presentation for Majin Boo, but since he is counted as part of the monster's sprites, he appears with alternative colors when Majin Boo does so.

CELL:

ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Original Manga / Kanzenban version. Cell's junctions and articulations on his body (like the "belt") are most often blue, as opposed to purple in the anime. Cell keeps his red eyes for his Perfect Form.
3) Super Butoden & Super Butoden 2 version. The alternative outfit for those Super NES video games will display a turquoise shade instead of the regular green.
4) DBZ 2 Super Battle version N°1. An alternative, pink render of Cell, with purple articulations. Cell, you were supposed to absorb the cyborgs, not Majin Boo! (and what a threat he would be then!)
5) DBZ 2 Super Battle version N°2. Another alternative, game version of Cell. This golden Cell still has purple articulations.
6) Hyper Dimension version. The alternative appearance from this Super NES video game shows Cell being grey.
7) Budokai version. The alternative costume for this game has Cell being blue, with purple articulations, and the yellow surrounding of his face has gone dark blue.
8) Super Dragon Ball Z version. A video game alternative appearance showing a white Cell with purple articulations, his armor and crystals being black. With that, Cell is ready for secret operations in the middle of snowfields!

KRILIN:

ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Daizenshuu 180 version. Shown in an artwork from Toriyama. To go with his black armor with faded brown shoulders, Krilin has blue under-clothes similarly to Gohan and Vegeta. In the manga, Krilin's eyes are white, no different than any other ordinary character!

ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Kanzenban version. Red shirt doesn't fit Krilin as well as this black shirt with blue wrist. Krilin looks much more stylish this way in my opinion! For Toriyama, Krilin's eyes are not skin-toned, they're just as white as most other characters!

TAO PAI PAI:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Kanzenban version. Tao Pai Pai has a mustard-like yellow outfit, with grey lines.
3) DB Movie 3 version. An alternative, blue-oriented palette swap for this movie. The symbol on his chest has a black background instead of white too.

TRUNKS (ALTERNATIVE FUTURE):

ImageImageImageImage
ImageImageImageImage
1+2) Anime version.
3+4) Kanzenban version N°1. Lots of little changes for this Trunks: much darker indigo hair, blue vest (the anime has it more indigo wheareas Toriyama always saw it as clearly blue), the sword case is now a faded orangy-yellow, the buckles have become fully dark gray, the trousers have a barely-perceptible indigo tint, and the Capsule Corp logo has red (Toriyama used to have the "double C" itself being red and surrounded by white, but now it is the surrounding who is red and the "double C" is white). Another version appears later on the Super Exciting Guide (in the Kanzenban continuity), keeping all the changes but showing a very much lighter blue for the vest.
5+6) Buyu Retsuden version. The alternative jean jacket for this game is dark green.
7+8) Zenkai Battle Royale version. One of the alternative costumes for this game shows a flashy green jacket.

ZABON:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Original Manga version (with Kanzenban touch). Zabon has a white skin, indigo clothes, purple jewels and eyes. It is shows in the Kanzenban that Scouters exist in two variations: green and blue. Given the fact that he likes to have his appearance coherent when it comes to tone color (judging by his clothes and accessories), it is likely Zabon chose the blue version, like Ginyu and Butta.
3) Ultimate Battle 22 version. A simple switch between the blue and pink/purple elements is enough sometimes to create an alternative appearance for a game.

Check out the color chapters and you'll see that the manga version has his skin plain white, as white as the page itself! 8)

But you're right about this specific artwork, it is very subtle (I even checked out my physical Daizenshuu Volume 1 book to be 100% sure through real-life definition), but it's there: the lit part of his skin is exactly the same as the lit part of the armor, but when comparing the shadows on his skin to the shadows on his armor, there's an extra blue tint for his skin.
Which makes another version to deal with! 8)

I'll actually try to separate this one "original manga version" into the two more specific Toriyama versions ("chapter ??? version" and "Daizenshuu 150 version"), each of them having specific tints for the skin and clothes.
Thanks for noticing!

UPDATE: BOING / BULMA / FREEZER / NAPPA / PUERH / TAO PAI PAI / ZABON

CORRECTION:
Zabon's manga picture has been separated into two more accurate renditions of his two different "manga" incarnations.

Trying to get rid of a good chunk of The World artworks. And there are also various manga/Daizenshuu versions added.
More video game alternatives next time (possibly a special "video game alternatives" update, actually)!

BOING:

ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) The World version. A normal tongue, white siliva, and green skin. Side by side, those renders make me think of Mom Boing and Dad Boing.

BULMA:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Full-Color Manga, with purple hair as usual and a sexy red color instead of black.
3) The World version. The usual purple hair (a bit faded in this case), with a blue bunny outfit this time. But the little something special is that the outfit is cut now, revealing Bulma's belly. The panties are white, but there's no actual way to see what the legs are like (they were inspired by the Full-Color version for the render above).
EDIT : This is actually a mistake, I confused the steering wheel for... her belly. Yeah, that's kind of an odd confusion... :? It'll be corrected with the next update!

FREEZER:

ImageImageImage
ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Chapter 255 version. A really, really intense pink-going-very-red skin, with slightly-orangy yellow cheek lines.
3) Daizenshuu 150 version. Pretty much the anime version, but the skin is plain white.
4) Daizenshuu 152 version. An intimidating Freezer covering the whole background behind Goku's tiny representation. All set in black and yellowish tones, except for the red eyes.
5) Kanzenban version. Freezer appears has either having a white skin or a pink skin in the original artworks. However, in the Kanzenban, Toriyama has clearly chosen (twice) that his skin is light pink, most of his body being dark pink. Also, his gauntlet doesn't show any distinctive colors.

NAPPA:

ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) The World version. The armor now has blue pecs, and a more brownish tint instead of yellow. Strikingly, the scouter is orange. Really, with all the various colors through various media, scouters are like lightsabers, there has to be a color you like!

PUERH:

ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) The World version. White skin, black fur. It could almost seem like an uncolored Puerh if the entire illustration wasn't fully colored in every single detail, showing that it's really how Puerh was likely intended for that artwork, he's litterally black and white!

TAO PAI PAI:

ImageImageImage
ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Full-Color Manga version. Another, similar pink tint for the costume, but the lines are white with black nooses. The sleeves are purple instead of blue. The symbol is also different, replacing the big red circle by a thick, black circle coupled with a narrow, inner white circle.
3) The World version. The suit is a yellowish green with black sleeves.
4) Kanzenban version. Tao Pai Pai has a mustard-like yellow outfit, with grey lines.
5) DB Movie 3 version. An alternative, blue-oriented palette swap for this movie. The symbol on his chest has a black background instead of white too.

ZABON:

ImageImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Chapter 255 version (with Kanzenban touch). Zabon appears with a totally white skin, wears dark blue sleeves and brighter blue jewels and eyes. He also has a shade of green that goes more towards a yellow tint, being somehow "leaf green". The armor has a slightly different tint as well. Note that the cape does not appear and was left as is in the render above. Nor does the scouter, which is depicted as blue here based on the Kanzenban covers showing they do exist as blue, and given that Zabon seems to have a fondness for that color in that version.
3) Daizenshuu 150 version. This version has an almost white skin with a subtle tint of blue that is only visible through shadows (comparing the shadows of the skin to the shadows of the white armor helps to perceive that hint of a blue tint). The sleeves and eyes are purple this time, but we don't see the panties and can't know how they would be affected by the overall color scheme. The hair have a more vibrant shade of green in that artwork, going more towards the blue side than the yellow one. The cape does not appear on the artwork. Nor does the scouter, which is based on the dark blue scouter worn by Dodoria in the very same illustration for the render above.
4) Ultimate Battle 22 version. A simple switch between the blue and pink/purple elements is enough sometimes to create an alternative appearance for a game.

3) The World version. The usual purple hair (a bit faded in this case), with a blue bunny outfit this time. But the little something special is that the outfit is cut now, revaling Bulma's belly. The panties are white, but there's no actual way to see what the legs are like (they were inspired by the Full-Color version for the render above).

Is that the image you used for this? Because if it is, I think you misinterpreted something. lol

Pretty sure what you're seeing as her revealed belly is part of the steering wheel, and the whole bunny suit is supposed to be blue with her leggings either white or just exposed skin.
