It's weird that we see Goku powering-up into Super Saiyan God, but we also see him fighting Birusu in normal Super Saiyan form instead of Super Saiyan 2 or Super Saiyan 3, which he used in their first battle.

This is true now you mention it.. Why would he even fight him in SSJ. Also, he fights him in SSJ3, gets battle damaged, then gets into space and fights him in SSJ there with clothes normal? Point is, he is SSJ3 in earth, in space he is SSJ1. But in space he also lost his orange top of the gi. I don't really get it..

Lol, you didn't see much of anything. But, I guess if you think you saw it then I believe that you believe it. Just don't be thrown for a loop if it turns out to be something else.

Could it be that they will replace the SS Goku with SSG Goku in the movie, like they did with Gohan? Maybe they have SS Goku vs Birusu in the trailers because they want to show scenes from the final battle, but not Super Saiyan God.

If that is SSJG I won't be fussed, it's nothing ground breaking, but it's still good. I'll just wait and see if this gets confirmed though, it will probably look better in motion too, if it turns out to be true.

I do prefer Goku's base hair to his ssj hair (whose style always struck me as "Vegeta hair with bangs/fringe") so I like this wavy version of the base hair if that is what his ssjg form looks like.

I'm hesitant to confirm it 100% as being that too. Unless I know for sure, I can't say that's what that is even if it looks believable to me. The best thing about this "maybe it is?" form for me is that he's got his eyebrows and bangs; those were two things I really wanted from the new form. I'm happy I may have possibly gotten that.

Not really, and I'm not about to backtrack to prove it to you, because I don't want to.

But, nevermind that, I'm interested in this these internaitonal screenings. Here's hoping there's a screening somewhere in New York. Hopefully. Miraculously.

Apparently the show that gave us the supposed image of Super Saiyan God talked about international screenings. At least, that's what I think was said. I'm assuming that's what he's on about.

I can't really believe they would be so careless to have their ultimate secret for the movie revealed just like that. On the other hand, I also don't believe the entire thing is such a super hyper top-secret classified matter to begin with. Who knows.

I don't mind simplistic but this is just too simplistic. I can honestly say I would be rather annoyed if this was the final product. However I probably don't have to worry about that since Toei would likely not have that big of a secret just hanging on their front door.

So far, only one person in the 2ch thread about fifteen minutes ago just brought up (I think) this picture. No one else has commented on it over there.

Nappa looked physically much more impressive than Vegeta and yet Vegeta was the stronger one. Freeza's final form looked less impressive than his other forms and yet that was him at his strongest. Perfect Cell was mocked by Vegeta because he looked physically less impressive than his other forms and yet he was "perfect". I actually think it makes sense that Goku's final form would look less spectacular than SSJ3.

And we haven't even seen fight yet. For all we know he could move like gravity doesn't affect him and his ki attacks could be massive blue energy blasts that are even bigger than Bils's sun-like energy ball or whatever. It's not just about the form, it's about what he can do with it. Janemba's appearance wasn't anything groundbreaking IMO but he had tons of cool and unique moves.

Goku and Vegeta could have sparred frequently in these 2 years allowing their powers to skyrocket. Vegeta's pride tends not get in the way anymore.

A lot of you people on Kanzenshuu underpower Goku inconsistently, even putting him below Gotenks and claiming the gap in their powers is too massive. So how is it that you come to the conclusion that Goku got that much stronger in that short amount of time. Why is it so hard for people to believe that Goku being stronger than Gohan in the Buu saga to begin with is actually highly possible/likely. I mean Vegeta did confirm that the battle between Goku/Kid buu would determine the fate of the universe and concluded that Goku was #1 and the only one capable of going up against him. Nobody actually stated that Gohan surpassed Goku during that time. Even the Kai's who were obsessively impressed with Gohan's ki in the beginning of the saga, yet once Goku is restored to life, the kai's all rely on Goku to save the day and forget about Gohan not giving one mention if he would be able to fight Kid buu like Goku did. Infact, Goku never even goes all out until the Kid buu fight.

The Japanese animated title of the episode when Buu is killed is even called : Son Goku is the strongest afterall!"

That means SSJ2 Vegeta and SSJ3 Goku couldn't stand a chance against Super Buu, yet Ultimate Gohan totally outclassed him. So not only is Ultimate Gohan far stronger than Goku, but also Goku and Vegeta combined.

And no one relied on Goku. Goku and Vegeta decided to face kid Buu on their own due to pride, thats why they crushed the earrings. And because the fans wanted Goku to be the one to save the day, we all know that.

Funny, I was just saying earlier that I'd been thinking it might have been cool, had the manga continued serialization, if Goku had somehow trained himself to bring his power out without transforming--like Ultimate Gohan, but without the ritual. It seemed to me that it would be a Goku-ish thing to do, and a natural progression for him after realizing the drawbacks of Super Saiyan 3 and hearing the elder Kaioshin say that transforming was the wrong way of doing things.

If we do get a limited screenings then I hope my AMC theater (the theater that I used to work for) can have a midnight show. It would be funny if Brad Jones and his friends do a midnight screening video on the movie. I doubt anyone of them watch the show and it would be funny to see their reactions of the movie .

It's not quite all that simple.. if it were, then the Buu saga "power standings" discussion wouldn't be the decade long debate that it is. Certain things that were said and shown a short time later when Pure Buu enters into the story casts doubt on this assessment. I won't get into the finer details, because VegettoEX hates this discussion. But I will say this... you can't say for certain that Goku didn't make that statement for the sole purpose of buttering Vegeta up for a fusion dance. He also could have been concerned with Vegeta getting in the way, and simply didn't favor confronting Buu for that reason.

I dunno, given the fact that this image is placed next to the original Dragon Ball anime logo, I feel like this is just some throw-away generic no-use image of Goku; something just to let staff and guests understand that "Hey, this is the Dragon Ball sector of the office, everyone's powering up and doing their very best!" or something like that.

To me, the supposed image of SSG Goku just looks like him powering up to a regular Super Saiyan. Like when he stands there calm and is the in-between stages of SSJ aura flare-up and regular Goku.
