It's worth noting that it doesn't say "Battle of Gods". It might have been made and stuck even before the movie was named, which means that that Goku is an early beta design of SSJG that is allowed to be revealed.

Beta design certainly does make sense. I like the design as it is though, I just wish False Super Saiyan hadn't done it first (since FSS looks pretty bad).

The only real issue I have is that it's already been done... if they're going to have a new ssj form then make it a NEW ssj form.

If that image were a beta, that would make sense. Again, it could be a random Goku image - I could buy it just being some random powering-up Goku that Toriyama or some animator drew up, in the same vein that the BOGxOPZ double-billing ticket had an image of Super Saiyan Goku with electricity around it ala SSJ2. My point is, I don't think they really care, as long as it's obvious who Goku is and that he's doing some bad ass pawaa appu-type of thing.

I actually really like this idea; if it's a beta design that makes it even more interesting to me. I enjoy behind the scenes and early draft stuff; like how ssj3 almost had a tail, and how Buu almost had a Babidi-like face, and how Cell almost had hair.

I'd love to see whatever concept art was drawn for Birusu, Uisu and Super Saiyan God in one of the Chozenshuu, the movie's inevitable film comic, or somewhere...

We may well be looking at SSJ God Goku, but only in his base form. So there still may be many surprises in store, and would explain the prevalence of a blue aura in the trailer.

For instance, from base state to SSJ as we currently know, the aura changes from white to yellow, eyes from black to green, etc.

Now, from SSJ God Goku base state, the base aura is yellow with red eyes, but the SSJ equivalent is blue with yellow eyes (or similar).

In this manner, the trailer and the image at TOEI give us a tiny spoiler within the trailer, but most importantly, retain the "WOW" factor in the SSJ forms.

To summarize - Once he powers up through SSJ,1 2 and 3, the hair, eyes and aura color change significantly, as opposed to his current transformations.

I don't get if that image was leak then why is not taken down? IIRC that the image was not uploaded officially from Toei? Studios tend ask sites to take down official art work before the movie is released.

Because it was officially broadcast on Japanese TV.

Okay just double checking. Either way, if that is the full design that I'm okay with it I guess. Better then having a gold version of SSj4.

I think I'd rather have a gold version of SSJ4. I guess the form looks alright.. But it just looks like he's on fire or using kaio ken. Nothing too special about that kind of look. Hell I'd rather have that false saiyan form from movie 4. That would look a lot better, right?

Any judgements on the form should really wait until we understand what it's supposed to mean, which we really won't know until the movie. This is the universe where we accept that a sayain's hair can turn gold because of single-minded rage, after all.

If anything, this would be the realization of False Super Sayain, which would justify it's appearing in Movie 4.

It kind of looks like Goku took some styling moose to his hair actually. He was bored, it was sitting there on the bathroom counter, he'd seen Gohan use it before and decided to play with it until he realized too late that saiyajin hair doesn't really style that way.

I'm just curious as to if this is ssjg or just a beta version. Even if that is the hair I was hoping his clothes at least would change significantly.

I would be surprised if this doesn't happen at some point in the movie. Shirtless Goku is practically a hallmark of 'things are getting serious'.
