What gives you the impression FUNi are gonna release a series-whole box-set? I know they're highly milking the series, but I can't see them releasing a series-set, let alone releasing such a thing in Toei's Dragonbox format. Judging by the speed of FUNi's releasing of these Ultimate Uncut DVDs, they obviously have their hands filled with the tons of other anime they're currently dubbing and releasing, not to mention distributing other companies' DVDs (almost all of 4Kids' releases, Degrassi, etc., etc.). I personally consider it awesome that we have saga-made sets, they're (now-a days) cheap and nicely designed. Maybe FUNi will end up re-releasing the rest of the series in updated (possibly Ultimate Uncut style) packaging with the correct episode numbers, possibly in a ridiculously expensive series set, but unless we hear from them that they are, then I'm still skeptical. After all, I recall hearing them say they'd be done after redubbing and releasing the episodes dubbed by the Ocean group, and while the Return of Cooler seems to be an exception because of it's theatrical release (I'm assuming its theater showing is the reason it's getting a re-release simply because movies 4 and 5 aren't getting such treatment), I personally think all we'll be seeing after the last UU DVD is released will be the long anticipated "Pilaf Saga" set (yay for FUNi going into talks with Lion's Gate Films).Ninja Poe Bear wrote:@ Tanooki Kuribo: I understand. But what I am saying is that there could be more to this than we are being told. But yeah, they will eventually do a DVD box set of the series. And I can only assume it will be after they finish the sagas. But what I would like is for them to do something that would possibly be a radical move, and is one I can see being a winning move (if they are willing to do it). And best of all, they do not have to sacrifice what they are currently doing.![]()
OFF TOPIC: After all the Ultimate Uncuts are over and done with, I'd personally love to see FUNi release a cheap reprint set of the Ocean Group dub. Having all 67 of those episodes on a $20 6 disc set, being 10 episodes per DVD with 7 on the last disc, would be very ideal for me. Re-encoding to new discs with the episodes in their entireties (as opposed to the Pioneer DVDs) would be pretty damn awesome, and I know a lot of nostalgic and old-school fans out there like myself would probably jump for getting this. Yeah, it's a very slim chance, but it'd still be an interesting concept on milking DBZ when the series really has been completed on DVD releasing (which more than likely will be when the last UU DVD is out). Hell, I'd buy it!
