I can only imagine the newer fans trying to adjust to this dub, in the same way I tried to adjust to Funimation a long time ago playing Budokai, Goku wasn't Goku, etc although now I feel they are. It took me quite a while, when it shouldn't have really considering Ocean Kept changing them all the time, I remember thinking the guy who played Krillin had a cold through the Freeza saga when they changed actors :)
Next to get; Leged of Saiyan figures and Freeza's force

If anyone sees
Any of the Legend of Saiyan line going cheapish
Or any other Banpresto DBZ figure :)

If anyone has a cooler steelbook dvd that wants to sell it (prefer new but used is fine) when/if the dragon box movies comes out contact me :)

After watching the Sayin and Namek saga over and over...when they finally got to the new episodes I remember thinking "what is this?!?" especially when Vegeta opened his mouth :D

I thought Kuririn was pretty close and Goku tried. The music and more "hard core" tone of the show was really weird too.

Good times :D

Odd you'd think that, since Strait was a huge departure from Klassen, who had a higher pitched voice, whereas Strait gave him a deep, raspy voice.

Sabat's Vegeta took some adjusting to, but I thought they got Corlett back for Goku at first. Likewise, I also thought Freeza, Gohan, Jheese and Burter all sounded about the same.

Yea, I hear the difference now...
I knew Freeza and Gohan were different but close but Burter and Jheese I thought were the same.

There was the internet back then, but for whatever reason I didn't look up the release date before hand, and came across the Captain Ginyu VHS's out of luck (or misfortune based on your POV). I bought it that day, and I remember laying on my bed with my Kraft Mac and Cheese to watch NEW episodes for the first time in about over a year. My first thought was "Yeah, new DBZ!" then "This sounds different, and not in a good way, oh who the hell cares, it's DBZ!" and "At least Goku sounds better than his previous actor (Kelamis)." I think I wore those tapes out. If green VAs and bad techno/"rock" music is the price I had to pay for uncut episodes, then so be it. For whatever qualms I have with the way DBZ was treated, I still look back fondly on those days and have come to prefer the TX cast to the Ocean cast.

Ugh, I can't believe it's been nearly 14 years since those days

Every day that this doesn't show up on Amazon.com I cry a little inside, If Funi actually end up with this released then I believe there is nothing they can't do and the Japan Only Specials will hopefully follow like the Fire Saftey Promo and the Jump Specials along with the Bardock movie and the other OVA with English Dubs :)

I'd love to see those things, but the difference between them and the Ocean dub is this is basically a re-release.

I love that to happen, but I highly doubt it. DBZ DVD releases are always bare bones and it could be that Funi feels like people buy the DVD's to watch the show, and nothing else. It would be cool to have a commentary track with the Ocean cast to see how they talked about dubbing the older episodes. One reason I still keep my Ultimate Uncut Vol. 1 DVD because of the cool features that it has.

I don't think it's FUNi's shows in general, because from what I can gather, every One Piece DVD has at least one commentary. DB/Z/GT/Kai are the shows that made FUNimation but the ones that have recieved so little attention regarding their home video releases, it's ridiculous.

I'm not sure if the R2 DVD's have any bonus features or not, but I guess it would be possible that FUNi' could always put any Japanese commentary on their DVD's and sub them. Companies like Media Blasters would used the original Japanese commentary and subtitled it for several of their movies.

I just thought of something. Saban, which helped produce the first Ocean Dub of Z with FUNimation, just came back recently after being bought by Disney. They got back Power Rangers and Digimon and are currently using the licenses to their advantage. Perhaps the revival of Saban made it possible for FUNimation to even release this dub.

I don't think Disney takes things out of their vault because of the copyright. I think it's to drum up demand for their home video releases.

On Facebook, the Ocean Dub Studios Fan Group contacted AAA, here is what they said:
From Facebook wrote:contacted AAA anime distribution about there upcoming Ocean dub dvd release, this is there reply "The information we have is from Funimation's upcoming solicitations. While there are instances where items get removed or shuffled around on the release date, generally the release information is accurate. In the description is states as redubbed, but we're not sure of that what that means as the information comes from a tip sheet. You may need to contact Funimation directly about the details" Ok people do you still think its fake or is this thing actually happening.Debate!

I was going to post that, but I was not sure or not. You can never trust fan pages on Facebook sometimes.

I just want the Ocean dub from 96/97. I hope the redubbed thing is incorrect.

As I said earlier, if the listing was a mistake Funimation would've said as much on their social media hubs. They haven't acknowledged it because it's legit.

That's a much better solution to current copyright laws than we have now.
