About Vegeta and him comforting Bils. I think Vegeta is trying not to ruin Bulma's party instead of appeasing Bils because he's the God of Destruction. Well, sort of, but look at that one shot where Vegeta tells Bulma he's the God of Destruction and she's like "Say WHAT?!". I think he keeps it a secret from everyone just to make Bulma's party work and also of course that Bils doesn't destroy the world, but mostly for Bulma :p And then of course Majin Buu ruins it :p That to me makes the most sense :p

Calling it now: Boo pisses off Bils by eating something he wants, or turning a delicacy into simple candy.

Yeah, I think it'll have something to do with food as well.

Yeah, as some of you are imagining, I think it's probably some kind of food-related argument that Buu and Birusu get involved in.
Kentai wrote:Son Gokuu is a fascinating character anyway, because he is - at face value, anyway - an idiot savant. The victim of violent head trauma as an infant [...] he's a simple bumpkin with a fair share of brain damage who's natural talents to work out what's wrong compensate for his broad lack of common sense. But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

My first reaction to the conversation between Kurumizawa (fan) and Watanabe was "Lol, you mad bro?" but after the initial laughter I do see where the guy is coming from though, but it would have been better to me had he said Vegeta and co. rather than just Vegeta alone. I couldn't help by chuckle endless when he mentioned Broli. Assuming he's a devoted, hardcore, avid, or whatever kind of fan you think he would use Buu, Janemba, or Hirudegarn as a measuring stick for Vegeta's improvements instead of Broli who by all means could be potentially thrash tier already to Vegeta during the Buu arc. Finally, his concern over power levels did remind me somewhat of the comments you see straight off of YT like another poster already mentioned. I do however envy the fans in Japan ability to communicate directly with the creators/writers of the series itself since I personally can't speak Japanese to do so.
Also, about the SSJ3 Vegeta, I simply can't understand why? With the exception of the first SSJ since it fulfills the legends and all that jazz that was originally built up in the Freeza arc, additional SSJ forms always seemed unnecessary to me simply because they added nothing to the character outside of generic stats boost? No new abilities or anything, just another multiplier added into the mix which seems pointlessly if the characters can simply train to become stronger in which means they can surpass say their previous SSJ3 form with their improved base form like in GT for example. So I must again, what's the point of Vegeta turning SSJ3 if he can simply train to match said level with his SSJ/SSJ2 form without all the drawbacks of SSJ3?

Vegeta wants to surpass Kakarotto. He isn't doing that if he is stuck with ssj2.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

I never said he would. Vegeta still wants to and that want will spark his desire to go ssj3.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
I dunno, didn't they have like an entire episode where he finally decided "I can't be better than Goku." I mean, that's like his end statement in the fight against Kid Buu. Vegeta at this point in the story, during the movie, has completely given up on becoming better than Goku. Apart from that, he also self-destructed to kill Majin Buu, which was an enormous impact on his character. He cares for his family, for Bulma, for Trunks. He is not the same man he was during the Cell Saga guys. I think even fusing with Goku into Vegetto has changed him substantially. Goku and Vegeta giving eachother a highfive isn't only because Vegeta respects him, it's because he understands Goku now. He won't ever beat him and he's accepted him, not only as an ally, but as a friend. You see how they act with eachother during the JSAT.
Vegeta reaching SSJ3? I think he'd still like to, he would probably still aim to become that strong, because he's still a Saiyajin, but to do it to beat Goku, I don't think so.

In the Kanzenban ending Vegeta still wants to surpass Kakarotto.

That was what? 10 years after Majin Buu. This is three. Maybe Goku becoming Super Saiyan God changed Vegeta's mind. But I think many people agree that that practically ruined Vegeta's character growth would almost lean towards ignoring that particular panel.TheMightyOzaru wrote:In the Kanzenban ending Vegeta still wants to surpass Kakarotto.

I'm talking generally. I'm already fairly sure he won't go ssj3 in this movie. How did it ruin his character? Vegeta changing his mind 10 years later isn't out of character. Thing is though this is more friendly competition than anything else.

I don't think it ruined his character either. I always figured he took what he learned from Goku and applied it to his own life.

The way I've always looked at it, Vegeta didn't so much 'change his mind' as he just evened out a little. He still would love to surpass Goku, to prove that he can be as big of a hero as Goku is and as strong of a fighter, but it's not the sole, burning desire of his life that it once was. Now he enjoys his life with Bulma and Trunks, and he keeps training, and if he happens to surpass Goku in the future? Awesome! If he doesn't? He's cool with that now too, it just means he can keep striving to surpass him eventually at his own pace. That's how I took the Kanzenban ending anyway, or that one panel at least.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
Yeah, but in this point in his life, three years after Kid Buu, I think he's not actively training to becoming better than him, so if he's not like that in the movie, I'm gonna be totally fine with that. Either way is fine actually, but I'd rather have Vegeta learn and just grow as a character than constantly get stuck in cliché-d character traits.
