Am I the only one that's actually glad SSG isn't a true new form? SS3 felt like more than enough, and I'm quite glad that they didn't just add something new. From what I can tell, it doesn't seem like something they're using to pander to fans, but as a legitimate plot device.

We don't even know if that time that form was stronger than a regular SSJ.
It could depend on the normal or hidden power of the person who transforms, or even on the six that help them unlocking it.

Fair enough. For those saiyans back in planet Vegeta, they may not have reached the strength of a Super Saiyan, but since they call it Super Saiyan God, then the power they managed to obtain must have been quite something.

So fog, you think that SSG power is a sum or moltiplication of the 6 Saiyans powers? Still, if you say SAIYAN God, ok, but we are talking about Super Saiyan God, and if you are not even a regular Super Saiyan, how can you become a Super Saiyan God? So, according to you, Nappa or Raditz with the powers of 6 pure Saiyans can become Super Saiyan God??

I'm just saying that Kei didn't mention anything about the 6 pure hearted saiyans needing to be Super Saiyans. I mean, look at Pan, she was able to help simply because she has a pure heart, not because of strength, I mean, she's not even been born yet!
So what I gather is that to reach the Super Saiyan God form, strength is not really what's needed, but rather what's needed is pureness of heart. So I guess it really is a magical transformation of sorts...

I'm fine with it being a plot device. Toei's Precure does plot-device power-ups in almost all of their recent movies so I'm used to that sort of thing.

I am curious about what the transformation is like; in addition to what special powers it may give Goku, I wonder if he'll just power-up into the form like he does with ssj, or if it'll be a genuine transformation sequence that happens to him.

I wonder how Super Saiyan God will work in games? I guess they'll just ignore all logic of it. It would be great if they made it a team battle exclusive thing though. Have a team of 6 'good' Saiyans to use it!

Super Saiyan God should be the posterboy for Boring and Impractical. Not that I have a problem with it, but it looks like base Goku, requires six Super Saiyans to come into play, has a time limit, and still can't get the job done against other godlike opponents.
