Kei, is the Bingo Game a literal game of bingo or is it just the name applied to a different type of game?

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
You know some of the things that happen in BoG sorta justifies some of the things that happen in Movie 8 and 4.
Bils wanting to destroy the earth because Boo didn't share his cupcakes or whatever is just as ridiculous (funnier but still just as ridiculous) as Broly having a hatred for Goku because he wouldn't shut the hell up when they were babies.
In BoG Goku gets energy from six "pure hearted" saiyans in order to achieve a God like power up that helps him at the very least keep up with Bils. Then in movies 4 and 8 we see Goku being lent some energy by his comrades in order to give him enough power to deliver the final blows. Goku gets energy from piccolo alone in movie 4 to finish off Slug and Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan and Piccolo in movie 8 to finish off Broly.
Now the older movies didn't have an explanation as to why people suddenly get stronger when given energy by battered comrades but hey I guess those were the improper ways to achieve the God like saiyan power up.

It's typical bingo we know.Chuquita wrote:Kei, is the Bingo Game a literal game of bingo or is it just the name applied to a different type of game?

I know this is really minor but I super want to know if Gohan does anything to change his hairstyle from having no bang at all to it being there when he fights Bils. Or is it just there once the fighting starts?
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I'm stunned and curious as to how this plays out. XDkei17 wrote:It's typical bingo we know.Chuquita wrote:Kei, is the Bingo Game a literal game of bingo or is it just the name applied to a different type of game?
Thank you, Kei!

kEI,
If Birusu wins, does it mean that he is stronger than SSJG Goku ?

It's strange that they're giving us a specific number of years. I guess like the sequel might be set three years after this moviekei17 wrote:I guess so. Uisu karate-chops Birusu at the end and he falls asleep, then Uisu says he'll wake up three years later.

If there's going to be a sequel I better start saving up for my ticket to Japan now.

Yes, but why do you keep asking me about strengths?nicrimo wrote:kEI,

Does Vegetto or Gogeta appear in this movie or at least get mentioned?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
Many people here are most interested in the strength of everyone in the movie. So Bils is above SSJG Goku? Were they even or was it one sided?kei17 wrote:Yes, but why do you keep asking me about strengths?nicrimo wrote:kEI,

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Kei, aside from dancing, what sorts of things does Vegeta do to keep Birusu entertained? Is the ssjg transformation something that happens to Goku (like a super sentai or magical girl transformation sequence) or does he power-up into it the way he powers-up into ssj1/2/3?
(I feel like the only one more interested in plot, but that can't be true.)

You might be. I'm interested in continuity and strength comparisons/abilities.Chuquita wrote:Kei, aside from dancing, what sorts of things does Vegeta do to keep Birusu entertained? So do Pilaf and Co remain kids at the end of the film?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
I think it's more correct to say a few people who post a lot are most interested in that.dbzfan7 wrote:Many people here are most interested in the strength of everyone in the movie. Thanks for all the info Kei! Can't wait to read your analysis of the film.
I love you love Mashirito.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
Why 3 years?
Maybe it's because woke Birusu up after 39 years, and 39+3=42...and 42 is the number of Manga volumes and, and...next year is the 40th Anniversary of the Manga.
Yeah, in all seriousness though, I do kind of expect a sequel a few years down the track if this movie does well enough. The film doesn't exactly tell you there's gonna be one, but it's leaving the door open with things like the 12 other universes, Birusu's re-awakening and Uisu's power. Speaking of which, I still don't understand why they were drawing so much attention to Uisu's mysteriousness and why the poster had him descending from the heavens when there really wasn't that much to him.
Another thing that's bothering is the amount of attention on the Saiyan race. I mean, I know it's the race of most of the main characters but honestly, there doesn't seem to be all that much about the actual God hierarchy. You'd think the likes of Kaio and Kaioshin would play more of a role than simply exposition if there's other gods involved...but I guess that's pretty much what they did in the Buu arc.
Also, am I the only one that feels like this movie has too many gags? I mean I like humour, I loved the Jump special- but it was kinda appropriate there because of the type of threat they were dealing with. But in this film, you have the God of Destruction setting up the most impressive fight the franchise has ever seen, over some cakes? Yeah, that's funny and all but it kinda seems, hmmm, out of place. I know-I know, classic Toriyama, but even in the Manga I don't think there was ever a villain that's driven by a gag. There is Commander Red, but that was more of an ulterior motive. Still very curious to see how this movie would've worked, had they taken the darker path.
I dunno, maybe I don't have a soul...Yeah, that's it. I'll probably end up retracting this paragraph in 5 minutes. Guess I'll wait till I've seen the movie, but I can't help but feel like my expectations have dipped ever so slightly. Don't get me wrong, I still can't wait to see the movie and I am going to love every second of it. It's just that these are some niggling thoughts in the back of my head.
Oh, and if I can sneakily throw in a question here for Kei17... Sorry man, but if you're the first to see the film on the biggest Dragon Ball forum on the net, then you suffer the consequences.
I mean, you could've given me the ticket instead (and flights to Japan).
What played with the end credits? Was it just footage from the film, was it drawings of the characters, was it just a plain black background?
And did the 20th Century Fox logo play in full? With like the fanfare and everything? Did they use the Waves and Rocks logo too?

Most interested? I don't think so, and I am not . Anyway, they seemed to be equally strong at some point, but Birusu wins after all. In addition, he says SSJG was not that strong and Oracle Fish's prediction was a little exaggerated.dbzfan7 wrote:Many people here are most interested in the strength of everyone in the movie. Not At all.ringworm128 wrote:Does Vegetto or Gogeta appear in this movie or at least get mentioned?
Vegeta bows to Birusu and always speaks to him extremely politely. Speaking of the SSJG transformation, it was like this: the Saiyans hold their hands, float in the air, Goku is surrounded by a blue aura and flashes, then SSJG is born.Chuquita wrote:Kei, aside from dancing, what sorts of things does Vegeta do to keep Birusu entertained? I swear this happened at some point in GT. Might've been with Bebi Vegeta.kei17 wrote:Speaking of the SSJG transformation, it was like this: the Saiyans hold their hands, float in the air, Goku is surrounded by a blue aura and flashes, then SSJG is born.

Do the other Z-Fighters(Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, ETC) get any fights or good scenes?
