Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

Many people here are most interested in the strength of everyone in the movie. So Bils is above SSJG Goku? Were they even or was it one sided?

Most interested? I don't think so, and I am not . Anyway, they seemed to be equally strong at some point, but Birusu wins after all. In addition, he says SSJG was not that strong and Oracle Fish's prediction was a little exaggerated.

Interesting. So they were equals and then Bils took the lead. I guess he was holding back during there fight. Kinda sucks that after all that Goku isn't a match for Bils.

Speaking of the SSJG transformation, it was like this: the Saiyans hold their hands, float in the air, Goku is surrounded by a blue aura and flashes, then SSJG is born.

I swear this happened at some point in GT. Might've been with Bebi Vegeta.

It does but Vegeta never lends any energy to Goku in GT. Its always Gohan, Goten, Trunks and I think Pan, heck I believe Oob even offers his energy. So because Goku was always short a saiyan and even mixed the energy with a human's (Oob's power) then its no wonder Goku never gets SSJGod in GT.

I think we're thinking about two different things. In the Bebi arc, I swear Bra, Goten, Trunks, Gohan and maybe some other people all join hands and spin round in a circle around Bebi Vegeta-or maybe I'm mis-remembering things.

It is very Dragonball GT sounding.

The 'lend me your Saiyan energy' device is first used by Baby to transform and later by Goku twice, once to restore his power as a Super Saiyan 4 and once to push his power to the limit, to become a full power Super Saiyan 4.

On the latter two occassions Uub does not contribute energy but instead acts as a glorified distraction. I think this is sufficient evidence to say that there is something special or essential to the process about the energy coming from those with Saiyan blood.

As I mentioned previously the idea that the Saiyans give their energy to Goku to achieve the SSJG and that Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan during the process provides correllation with Dragonball GT but stops short of completely validating it. This seems almost certainly completely intentional.

I'm with you in this, I really don't care who is more powerful at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I like to know who's stronger and stuff, but I'd much rather know all about the plot. Vegeta's moments in particular. I love how he gets super pissed because Birusu slaps Bulma, it just makes me love Vegeta even more.

I'm curious as to how long the party actually runs for. Because from looking at the soundtrack it seems like it takes a fair amount of time.

What played with the end credits? Was it just footage from the film, was it drawings of the characters, was it just a plain black background?
And did the 20th Century Fox logo play in full? With like the fanfare and everything? Did they use the Waves and Rocks logo too?

He never goes Super Saiyan God in GT because it wasn't invented while they were producing GT. A similar thing happens when Goku needs energy and Gohan and all gather round him to give him theirs.

So it happens to Goku like a super sentai/magical girl. Cool! X3 Even if it's just a flash of blue light engulfing him so we don't see the details. I guess a full blown sequence would be a greedy request from me. (I might draw one though. )

Kei has already said that some of the Japanese fans have been saying there will be, but he doesn't think so. Or something to that effect . I don't think there will be yet either, the movie hasn't been released yet, I think they'll wait to see how much it makes.

A listing of the anime series in Chouzenshuu vol.2 says "AND MORE?!" after BoG.

It's just that they chose Goku this time. At the end, Vegeta says that he will be SSJG next time.

Do the other Z-Fighters(Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, ETC) get any fights or good scenes?

Sadly, they don't. Everyone gets knocked out with single attack. Especially Yamcha does almost nothing in the movie.
