Speaking of the SSJG transformation, it was like this: the Saiyans hold their hands, float in the air, Goku is surrounded by a blue aura and flashes, then SSJG is born.

I swear this happened at some point in GT. Might've been with Bebi Vegeta.

It does but Vegeta never lends any energy to Goku in GT. Its always Gohan, Goten, Trunks and I think Pan, heck I believe Oob even offers his energy. So because Goku was always short a saiyan and even mixed the energy with a human's (Oob's power) then its no wonder Goku never gets SSJGod in GT.

But:

"Goku reaches this “Super Saiyan God” form surrounded by a red aura. Goku returns to his regular Super Saiyan form, but has now felt the form’s godlike power and is able to tap into it."

Apparently, this fixes/explains GT's all powerful SSJ Goku, right?

That aura is much closer to actual SSJG than my sketch, but the hair is purple-red instead of red.

That's hard to say when this kind of distances itself from GT with making the Pilaf gang young instead of old and also introducing huge new plot elements in the form of alternate universes.

Hmm... just an observation. But there are a lot of people trying to tie this to GT when Pilaf has turned into a child and is still a child at the end of the movie. GT doesn't work anymore because episode 1 of GT can't work anymore... So... do you people think that can be explained some other way... or are you just ignoring the fact... I'm just wondering why people are still trying to tie this together with GT?

Oh boy, I just finished reading all of Kei's posts and are up to date.

I have 3 things to say.

1. Okay, hear me out...

12 Universes in a Multiverse.

12 God's of Destruction.

12 Super Saiyan Gods.

Now imagine a movie where all of this comes together... see where I'm getting at?

Perhaps Future Trunks possibly gained SSJG? Explanation? Goku, Gohan, Vegeta and a few other Saiyans (Maaaaybe Bardock) did the same to Trunks like what was done to Goku, either by transmitting him to Other-World or cashing in their free day-on-earth-pass.

2. Tarble was mentioned? YES!!! Confirmed to be taking place after the 2008 JUMP special

3. I WANNA SEE THIS MOVIE SO BAD!!!

Well, there's no reason they SHOULDN'T. If GT works in the manga continuity together with this movie, then fine, right? If it works, it works. But with Pilaf that's pretty much... on purpose making GT not work, with a fun tongue-and-cheek joke, at the expense of GT's first episode :p

I'm kinda disappointed that SSJ God isn't THAT much of a challenge for Birusu. Seriously I don't see how Goku can get stronger than SSJ God unless SSJ God works like a multiplier like every other form does in which case he can increase it's power by increasing his base power. Maybe he can improve it by stacking his other SSJ forms on top of it.

I am clearly the only one relieved and impressed that Goku (nor any other hero) didn't end up 100% completely winning or truly saving the day.

It's not impressive for the producers of a shonen flick to not fall into the trap of just having the hero save the day in the end? Like they have literally done every single other time ever in the history of completely ever? Especially on the first full-length production in 17 years? Where part of the goal is to bring everyone back together and relive those great experiences?

I am not disappointed that Birusu won, no I too think it's genius script writing, I'm just disappointed that SSJ GOD wasn't that strong. Power Scaling is just as important to some as the story and characters. There is something really fun about applying mathematical understandings to these characters' abilities.

I agree 100%. But I'd actually love it if Goku for once lost. This would make it an interesting story point. Also I can't understand why people even bother asking about powerlevels when there are many other fascinating plot points. I, for once, would like to know whether we see Videl's stomach glowing or any other indication that Pan was SSJ while giving the energy to Goku.
