How come DBZ music lyrics don't rhyme?
Which goes for a lot of Japanese music but since I listen to a lot of DBZ CD's I noticed this. Since usually pop songs tend to rhyme world wilde I would like to know if there's a specific reason why Japanese songs don't.

I believe it has to do with rhyming in most languages being something that requires talent, whereas in Japanese, rhyming is super easy to do.

Basically what linkdude20002001 said, it just seems like the way Japanese is set up it's easy for lyrics to flow without any set rhyming scheme like most other languages. That 'natural flow' for lack of a better term doesn't exist in English. You have to tinker around a lot in English/most Latin based languages to get a similar effect.

I kinda get what you're saying. I'm currently following a songwriting class which discusses theses things and allthough I know few Japanese songs that seem to rhyme (the verses of Battle of Omega did rhyme if I recall) it just sounds 'right'. I also allows for fewer 'restrictions' so to speak. Dan Dan Kokoro reads like poetry without even rhyming. I's a pretty amazing effect when your raised on 'rhyming songs'.

I can't believe with the amount of Japanese media I consume that I've never noticed this. Taking Jord's accidental advice, I've put on Dan Dan, and I hear what you mean. I suppose the more poetic, natural flow of Japanese lyrics never caught my attention because it is so natural. Or because I understand so little of the language. Still, interesting stuff.
Re: How come DBZ music lyrics don't rhyme?
That's because in the Japanese language, particles such as desu, masu, da, and nai often come at the end of each sentence. If you end every sentence with the same or similar sounding particle, that would sound like an essay badly written by a child, so you consciously avoid rhyme in Japanese. Although you can still rhyme by putting a noun at the end of each sentence, using such a technique named taigen dome (noun stop) too much is considered as bad.
