If they will do anything, I can't believe there will be enough fans after all these failures and atempts.
Only release you can get currently in full are Season sets and Dragon Box is out of print.
Out of Dragon Box, which was missing it's extras, Funimation never put out flawless release (Viz neither),
so after killing off the market with these miscarriages, maybe core fans from kanzenshuu will want to buy something again?

Call back when remastering film prints at 1080p for five hundred eight episodes, multiple television specials, and seventeen films doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

FUNimation seemed to have no problem releasing their remaster for a cheap price, so why can't TOEI? I don't want special items, booklets, etc.
That's just not how the industry works. If they're going to pay top-dollar to make something they are going to expect fans to return in kind.

Maybe I'm setting the bar low, but DBZ is never going to look great. It's a poorly animated TV series from the late eighties to mid nineties by a cheap animation studio. Just enjoy the Dragon Boxes.

Maybe for the films, but I doubt they can do it for the whole show. Just too many episodes to handle.

Well, if by "seemed to have no problem" you mean "had to embarrassingly cancel the project six months after first announcing it"... well... sure? :)

If we do get the movies on Blu-Ray in Japan then we could finally get better Blu-Ray releases here in the US. I remember hearing that the Funi Blu-Rays were hit or miss. I on;y saw the Blu-Ray of the Coola movies and I thought they looked pretty good. I do remember the Movie 8 & 10 Blu-Ray came out in 2007 was a bad DVD upscale from what I've been told.

Do we really need another rerelease of this show? If you want Dragon Ball Z in HD, you have Kai for your viewing pleasure. If you want to watch the full, unabridged show without any changes, you have the Dragon Box.

But well, DBZ in HD would look crystal clear and very detailed like FUNimation's DBZ Level sets for example.

If this were true, they wouldn't have paused/cancelled the DBZ Level sets collection. The PQ in DBZ Level sets is far superior and cleaner than Dragon Box's Z edition. Too bad there's no Japanese credits or NEPs, or clean Japanese audio broadcast.

Kai's picture quality for Mecha Freeza arc, Android arc and Cell arc looks awful at times, more bad than good, which was also one of the reasons I dislike the later Kai (though I really enjoy Kai from Saiyan to Freeza arcs).

Wasted potential on Kai.

I would be quite happy if they scrapped Kai and reanimated Z and made the story closer to the manga.

I still think you'd get people wanting the Z they know and love on a HD format.

Yeah, I've got the comic on my shelf. Lest you're going to give the show a real, big budget like Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Fullmetal Alchemist with talented animators and directors there's really no point to do an exact retelling of the comic's story.

If they would do the anime story they should at least cut the bull shit such as Goku's statement about Kid Buy being the strongest Buu when the Manga clearly states otherwise.

But with FMA it was under quite special circumstances, I just don't think they'd feel a need to retell it all for the sake of some new animation. I think I'd rather see the animation put into new content for the franchise.

I wouldn't mind if Toei did some OVA specials such as what the Hellsing Ultimate OVA's accomplished.

Dragon Ball Kai is not Dragon Ball Z.
Well aware, just saying there's an option for people who must have things in HD.

Dragon Ball Z in HD is complete for the Saiyan arc.

Dragon Ball Kai uses DBZ's animation but it's been chopped, rushed, badly remastered and uses inappropriate music for a series that's supposed to be modern and cinematic.
