AMV question
AMV question
To all the AMV experts here, what programs do you most prefer for making AMVs?
I've learned the basics for Window Movie Maker but it still feels kind of slow and choppy (take like 10-15 minutes to save an edited episode file), like there's still something better out there.
What do you guys like to use?

Re: AMV question
I've used Sony Vegas Movie Studio a lot, and can definitely recommend it. It's like a poor man's Adobe Premiere, and it's easy to use but surprisingly accurate and powerful.

I'm not looking to make a million plus views video, just trying to play around with some basics.

Re: AMV question
I personally use Adobe Premiere. Pretty expensive, but well worth the price.
Re: AMV question
I use Premiere Pro and After Effects. Adobe Creative Cloud is really worth it.

I use Windows Movie Maker. It can be a pain, but I'm broke.
It's easier to use 6.0 than Live, too, although it makes me computer make noises.
One day I'd like to buy a better software so I can make more precise edits and synchs, too.

Yeah, I used WMM for over 5 years, and you can do decent things with it, it just takes much more time xDJulieYBM wrote:I use Windows Movie Maker. It can be a pain, but I'm broke. It's easier to use 6.0 than Live, too, although it makes me computer make noises.

Re: AMV question
I like WMM because it's simple to operate and learn, but hate it because it's slow.
What's a fast program with a low learning-curve that would be the most similar to WMM?

Re: AMV question
I use Sony Vegas Pro. I had to use Final Cut Pro for a class once and I didn't really like it only because it handled a bit different than Sony Vegas. The simplest things to do in Sony Vegas felt like such a chore to do in Final Cut. But I imagine if I used a different program from the start I would prefer it more simply because I would know how to navigate it better.
All these programs have timelines though so it's a simple learning curve from WMM as long as you understand your timeline. It's only the extra options that take some experimenting to get used to.

One more question....
What's a good program or way to edit .mvk files? I've gotten the hang of VegasPro but, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to support .mkv files.
