I like the idea that one SSJ form can surpass another through hard work of that form, like how Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks practically maxed out and milked SSJ for all it's worth. I never did like how one SSJ form was overshadowed for another just because it was the next level. Well, not really, considering there were only three forms and once SSJ3 was made Goku would still casually be seen in his SSJ1 form. But, still.

I just imagined SSG itself would be the same color but I like the idea of it looking unique.The form being unique to Goku would be good too but this is DB.

The way this story presents the form destroys any notion of it being unique so Vegeta will likely acquire it at some point in his life.

Vegeta would have to be a dedicated mother f***er to surpass Goku with just Ssj2. I might prefer this explanation to be honest. This seems more Vegeta.

I still find it night impossible to believe that Vegeta got over 40x stronger (if SSJ3 Goku got finger flicked away, Vegeta better be at least 10x stronger than that to "hold his own") than Goku's base in those few years from his training.

Vegeta only has to be roughly more than 4x stronger to surpass Ssj3 Goku at Ssj2. It's not too farfetched with how dedicated Vegeta is.

Surpass him, yes. Not too farfatched, no, seeing as Goku is just as competitive and dedicated as Vegeta. And just surpassing him wouldn't be enough to go from getting finger flicked to holding his own.

I suppose it's one of the shonen tropes at work, "the power of feelings" that sometimes appear on stories. A trope which the manga Fairy Tail, for example, uses a lot. A LOT.
Vegeta saw Bulma get hurt, and his feelings enabled him to reach for strength he didn't previously had, momentarily. It doesn't have any logic behind it and it never will. But that's how it is. Perhaps it could be explained as untapped potential, or something like that, but I really don't think there's any explanation behind it. For now at least.

Vegeta's always been a tough S.O.B So him taking more punishment then Goku, who got knocked out by a pressure point move (more so then punishment) isn't all that farfetched. Does he actually get to hit Bills, it he doesn't that would explain stuff, if he does that would explain even more....

He was stronger after leaving the Room of Spirit and Time and before Goku entered it.

I guess after Vegeta leaves the ROSAT, but Goku surpasses him soon after. Hardly even counts.

My point is, Vegeta hasn't sustained any advantage over Goku.

I need an owner of both the Movie Guide and recent DVD magazine to tell me that the magazine is just reusing things from the guide. I'd hate to have to spend another $10+ that I don't have.

Piccolo trained with Goku, he knows how powerful he really is and what's the point of Piccolo saying he might be stronger than a weaker Goku? Everyone is in complete awe of Vegeta's power so it is likely he is stronger. Also Vegeta is stronger than Goku during the Ginyu arc up until Goku emerges from the healing pod. Vegeta has been stronger a multitude of times.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Somebody, please, oh please confirm that all of these awesome images I'm seeing from that DVD magazine are also included in the "movie guide" book and that I don't have to buy both.

The movie guide doesn't have those movie poster sketches or most of those character reference sheets. That is probably a different interview with Nozawa but I wouldn't know.

Hmm, I wonder if anyone would be able to comment on the timeline errors in any sort of official capacity... If the scriptwriter can't say anything, who can?

Yeah, I saw the pictures, which was why I was worried. I was just hoping that the character model reference sheets seen in the DVD magazine were possibly included on another page of the "movie guide" that wasn't photographed. I can do without the poster sketches, but I'd love it if those model sheets were also included in the official guidebook.
