Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
Releases March 25th in Japan. Compatible with Android devices on 2.3 or higher. Seems to cost 350 yen (just under $4).
Redon inadvertently alerted me to the existence of this in the Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission thread.
I am not excited.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
A Dragon Ball digital format game? Well, I thought they'd never do such thing.
While at it, release Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure with Online Co-Op & 1v1 Battles on 360/PS3.
I recently bought an indie game which was only about pressing one button but it only cost me 80 MSP ($1) and kind of hard to refuse the game that it was. Ninja Chop.

Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
Not a fan of phone games. Though if this was a dollar or less I'd probably buy just to have something to do on my lunch break. A handheld game for the Vita would be awesome though. I could get excited over that. I know the 3DS just got Heros but I'm not a fan of a card based system and I have no idea how it translates for the handheld. Then again people seem to be eating it up(more so than other games in the franchise).
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
I don't mind it. Could be fun for just a few dollars.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
Excuse the double post, but as it's additional new I think I'm alright:
Official Site
Seems there's going to be Multi-player over Bluetooth.
It doesn't look like the worst phone game ever, but I'll pass.

So whoever taps quicker wins the struggle battle, I wonder if there'll end up being damaged/broken iOS devices because of this.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:Excuse the double post, but as it's additional new I think I'm alright:

It would be cool if this came out in the US, but I kinda doubt it. I don't think a DBZ game on Android and Iphone would sell well in the US.

So, did this also go up on iTunes Japan or is that taking a while? Just wondering since the only link was to Google Play.

iOS version appears to be releasing later at an undisclosed date.ShadowDude112 wrote:So, did this also go up on iTunes Japan or is that taking a while? Just wondering since the only link was to Google Play.

No, they're not. They're way better quality and more accurate to Toriyama's drawing style... and downright gorgeous.MCDaveG wrote:Aren't those sprites from Supersonic Warriors 2? (As there is Cell arc bald Krillin also?)
Thanos before Thanos was cool.

Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
The graphics are damn pretty for sure. It looks close to what I'd imagine a current-gen 2D Dragon Ball fighter would look like. Maybe if Tap Battle is a success, we'll see more 2D Dragon Ball games head our way?
If this game ever comes out on iPad, I'd definitely plink down the dough for it.

Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
Really hope this gets a Western release, this actually looks really cool for what it is <i.e. to play in 5-10 minutes bursts on my phone>
I've got more of a desire to play this than I have done for any DB game released this generation. Which is actually pretty sad as to what it says about the current state of DB games.

Can't it just be bought from the original Google Play Store to the phone?Jodaku wrote:Really hope this gets a Western release, this actually looks really cool for what it is <i.e. to play in 5-10 minutes bursts on my phone>

It appears to recognise the region setting and automatic convert currency, so maybe it does.
