Recently for Battle of The God's promotional artwork, Trunks has been coloured by Toriyama with turquoise/blue hair.
and initially he was coloured with this colour scheme for his hair here in this poster.
This poster has subsequently been changed to recolour Trunk's hair as the standard lavender-purple colour he has.
Now this may have seemed like perhaps an episode of Toriyama's forgetfulness such as him colouring Number. 18 with purple hair, but this colour for Trunk's hair has appeared before. I remember this figure released back in 1999 had the same colour hair;
So what I am wondering is where abouts does this colour scheme originate, did Toriyama once draw Trunks like this for any artwork in the past??
Does anybody know of any other instances at all of Trunks having this coloured hair??

Might just be an Arale-type thing?

Pretty sure the poster still has Trunks with the same blue hair as his mother. If you actually pay attention to the whole poster, everything on it appears to be darker than the image from the TV show. It's most obvious with the spots like Kaio's face, Bluma's hair, the Oracle Fish's water bowl, etc., so the colors have probably just been darkened and less vibrant during the scanning process.

Yeah, it does seem to suffer from some desaturation, messing with the brightness and contrast in word (I don't have photoshop) produces a blue haired effect, but a little dissimilar to the turquoise so it is probably be down to that. Do you know of any other instances of Trunks being coloured like this?? Promo artwork, video games, other toys, etc??

It is odd that the hair is like that but I'm a little more concerned with Mr. Satan looking emaciated

I noticed it as well, The characters all seem skinny. The poster art work does not look like Toriyama drew it. It surprised me to see his name on the poster. And now this "skinny" style. It is still very well drawn but it is the (skinny) style I don't like.

Toriyama said he didn't care hair colors in a recent interview about BoG, so I don't take his colorations seriously.

Really? It definitely looks like his style.

Is that seriously Toriyama's artstyle nowadays? Can't say I'm a fan.

Yeah, I think i know what you're getting at. At first it did not look like Toriyama drew the poster art, I can tell it's his style but they look different, And it's not just the skinny look.

Toriyama has been heavy into Dragon Quest character design. I feel like he's been leaning towards those DQ characters he creates and now it's "corrupting" his normal Dragon Ball style.

The one I think looks the most awkward in Toriyama's current art-style is Mr. Satan. He looks so gaunt!
This does make me wonder though how BOG: The Manga would've looked. You kinda lose some of the impact of ssjg Goku being slimmer than his base form when everybody in the cast is suddenly really slim. ^^;
On hiatus.

What I hadn't noticed till now is that Roshi's sporting some Crocs™. If you ask me, that's Toriyama trying to stir up some controversy. I cannot for the life of me think of any footwear that is more controversial, more socially divisive, than Crocs™. Everyone has an opinion about Crocs™. No matter who you ask, someone either hates them or love them. No in between. Forget about strength debates. Crocs™ debates are where it's at. Despite the subject matter being a tad 2007. Are you in the pro-Crocs™ camp or the no-Crocs™ camp? Pick a side. Fight to the death. Victor takes the spoils.
That Roshi. Overall, when it comes to the fashion curve, it's hard to tell whether he's far behind or far ahead. Shades. Hawaiian shirts. Crocs™. He's always blurring the lines.

Son Gohan:
Height: 176 cm (adult)
Weight: 61 kg (adult)
Mister Satan
Height: 188 cm
Weight: 94 kg
Not that I always agree with these heights, Trunks and Goten being perfect examples why, but they work by comparison IMO. So, I suppose Toriyama usually intends him to be taller, but that doesn't always happen since his characters tend to shrink once they fall into gag territory. Kuririn is a great example of this; as he actually looks pretty tall in the Cell Arc, but quickly returns to being short during the Buu Arc. Mr. Satan fell pray to it too...fairly hard.

I'm probably the only one who likes the new style

I'm fan of how the Toriyama art is evolving trough years.
FighterZ, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat: Funky_Strudel
PS5: Dynamixx88
Trust me, I'm millenial and a designer.

Yeah, the moment Satan becomes a gag character he gets shorter (around Dende's height). Just look at him in the Boo arc...
Also, everybody looks shorter and thinner when drawn in Toriyama's current style.
