Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

I'd really like to be able to type Gokū since it's more accurate, but there's no easy way to do it outside of my phone. I don't know if I'd want to try it like "Gokuu".

My naming schemes are all over the place. I generally like to preserve the pun though. (Kuririn, Table, the-not-yet-used-to Blooma).

Birus and Uis have name puns that are left over from an earlier draft of the script though...I dunno, I'm just gonna stick with Birus and Uis for now.

Anyone can name anyone the heck they want xD. it's just a pronunciation to me, I'm not comfortable saying: Kuririn, Gokuu and the bane of my existence, Blooma xD. I am cool with everyone pronouncing the way the way, but I feel weird when saying: Beers, Birusu, Uiisuu, Torankusu, I'll stick to the english pronunciations.

Are you kidding? His ego will never go away. Sure, he's not so vocal anymore with his boasting and stuff and his arrogance has been toned down, but I believe he will always have a gigantic ego.

I said he doesn't have much of one anymore. If he does, he is good at hiding it. I know he still has the drive to surpass Kakarotto but other than that, he his ego has deflated.

On the earlier topic of how to pronounce 'Birus', I understand that saying it like 'Virus' (only with a B) isn't how it's being said in Japanese, but it does seem to preserve the name pun better IMO, hence why I'm kind of sticking to that. Well, that and the only people I'm likely to actually verbalize about this stuff with is my girlfriend, so there's literally no harm in it, and everyone else reading my typing will just read it however they want anyway.

Tomorrow's the day guys! Can't believe we're finally here, after this weekend it's all gonna be down hill; from the box office numbers, to the home release and finally the international screenings. Thinking about it in hindsight, it really hasn't been all that long since the mysterious "D" website first appeared. This film really bought out the best and the worst in the DB Online community- it seemed to squash those Dragon Ball H*shi rumours for one thing, but then it gave birth to a variety of its own ones.

What are your DB-related plans for this weekend? What are you hoping to know after this weekend?
In terms of plans, I have the obligatory DB Movie marathon planned out. I also intend on spending a decent amount of time on Kanzenshuu, 2Ch, the Dragon Ball Figures Collection blog, Twitter and Google. There's also the podcast; wouldn't miss that for the world.

What I'm hoping to find out is how it ends up being received by the Japanese public, as well as how well it does financially- sounds real dorky, but honestly, I really hope this film exceeds Toei's expectations. It'd be awesome to see how this movie compares to some of the other films, but since this is its own stand-alone thing I don't think they (BOG) can be compared with any of them, except maybe movies 11 and 17. Another dorky thing I wanna know about is the opening and end credits. Are they cinematic? Is the ending nostalgic? Kei7 said they used the original Manga for the end credits which sounds amazing.
