It'll likely require you to have a Japanese SIM in your phone, as is often the case with regional Android releases. There are ways to get around that on Android which require you to root your device, and other steps that I'm not sure are worth the time for this game.dbboxkaifan wrote:Can't it just be bought from the original Google Play Store to the phone?Jodaku wrote:Really hope this gets a Western release, this actually looks really cool for what it is <i.e. to play in 5-10 minutes bursts on my phone>
I've got more of a desire to play this than I have done for any DB game released this generation. Which is actually pretty sad as to what it says about the current state of DB games.
It appears to recognise the region setting and automatic convert currency, so maybe it does.

It looks like it could be fun, but I am sure not going to that effort to get it.

Why are the Japanese the only ones who get the good games?

....except for RPG! I like RPG but I hate the grinding. Japanese hate FPS, but love to spend hours of clicking on fight and item commands, watching the same animations over and over.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Why are the Japanese the only ones who get the good games?

Not sure tapping on the screen until the fingers get tired of it or the screen's damaged that it's a good game, it's just tapping. Might as well do it with a hammer to get it over with.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Why are the Japanese the only ones who get the good games?

In an Android phone, the only thing you can do is tap & drag. I don't understand the logic behind damaging the phone with a freaking finger. I mean, seriously?dbboxkaifan wrote:Not sure tapping on the screen until the fingers get tired of it or the screen's damaged that it's a good game, it's just tapping. The graphics are awesome, and the gameplay looks fun. I would like to try it.

Seems like this is flopping. Day 1 sales under 500? Yikes.

I don't think DBZ has the best market for phone games. Better off sticking with console and handle systems like the 3DS for now.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:Seems like this is flopping. Day 1 sales under 500? Yikes.

Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
You know with some tweaked gameplay and added content, I can see this easily being a success if it was ported to PSN and Xbox Live, for about $15.00.
Graphics are gorgeous and they even went the extra mile in adding planet explosions and and small stage bumps. For what it is this looks pretty good. It could be a lot worse.

Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
That sounds highly unlikely and like it would be a money sink for the developers, its a game where all characters play alike, its fun for a ios game, which are time wasters, but are you telling me you would pay 15 bucks to play the same on a console?
Re: Dragon Ball: Tap Battle for iOS and Android
So after playing this, I gotta say, this game is pretty fun. While the Stylish mode (yeah that's what I'm gonna call the basic full touch mode) can get pretty repetitive, the Technical mode (yeah that's what I'm calling the one with the fighting stick) actually has some depth into it, not crazy SFIV depth but you can make some neat combos by cancelling.
Okay before I go any further, let me explain how the fighting system works for anyone who's wondering, you have 5 options (or ranges in Stylish mode) melee, rush-in attack, signature-skill/special, ki-blast and a super; and you also have an ultra that works exactly like in SFIV (take damage until the gauge is full). In Stylish mode it works like this, to move you simply touch anywere on the screen and two times to teleport, charging is done by holding your finger on your character and attacking is by tapping your opponent, now for defence, I really don't know what activates, most of time I«m holding my character and he defends, but some other he doesnt, oh and when you have 1 ki bar full you can teleport behind the oponent al budokai 3 when defending. See pretty simple, the only times you can combos in this mode is when doing a super while you are attacking with any other action.
In techical mode, everything becomes more traditional, you dash by double tapping the stick inb the direction you want, you defend by holding back and attack by pressing your options. Now in this game you have 3 Ki bars max, which you can use 1 for a super, 2 for an ultra and 1 for each cancelling, so let's say I'm Vegeta and I attack Kakarot by tapping the rush-in action, right after the rush-in ends, you can tap any action again (with the exception of melee) and continue the combo by the cost of 1 bi-bar, so in total, you can tap 4 actions in a row and use them effectively.
As for struggles, you have three types, the one that happens when you and your opponent use the same actions, where in that you gotta tap many green and red thingys as you can; then one that happens and you and your oponent use a diferent action which happens a card battle, now in this card battle it goes like this: everytime you choose a character you have a set powerlevel which goes up by leveling-up, and you can use some cards to raise it, when some cards are combined they can make your powerlevel increse drasticilly and win the struggle; and obviously you have beam struggle which is done by simple tapping the screen many times as you can to win.

The game sounds to have more to it than I actually thought.
Do any characters have unusual/interesting supers and ultras or is it all fairly standard stuff?

I know, but thats why I mentioned tweaked gameplay so we wouldn't get a DBZ version of Rag Doll Kung-Fu. Well I guess it'll take more than some "tweaking" but yea.Iced wrote:That sounds highly unlikely and like it would be a money sink for the developers, its a game where all characters play alike, its fun for a ios game, which are time wasters, but are you telling me you would pay 15 bucks to play the same on a console?
