Did Vegeta really see Goku in space? (Filler)

During the Garlic Jr arc when Vegeta goes looking for Goku. Episode 111.

He sees Goku training which causes meteors to come his way, and when he gets closer the super saiyan aura vanishes.

Vegeta: This ki... A super saiyan ki... Kakarrot? It is! I've found you at last, Kakarrot! There! On top of that rock. He's there all right! What, was it an illusion? No. That was no illusion. This land used to be flat, but he blew this away with his ki, leaving this mountain. The only one that could have done this was you, Kakarrot, as a super saiyan!

Do you think it was really Goku, or was Vegeta just losing the plot?

It's possible he was experimenting with Shunkan Idou and felt Vegeta's ki and then quickly left.

I read it as Vegeta's obsession driving him into a state of psychosis. Nothing more, nothing less.
