Sharing the sentiment that it's uncanny how very few, if any, missed opportunities there were this episode. Even the He-Tap, the obvious reason Piccolo didn't leave with the other Namekians, and that Goku wouldn't realize Freeza had been killed from space and thus his reaction is panicked. I'm really liking how Yamcha's being the most grounded of the humans in the series proper is translating so much into blatant insecurity- very in character. Found the shirt-back captions a bit too much, but they were wonderfully timed.

The Lion King killed me- did not see that coming at all.

Just like Dragon Ball since Chapter #4.

I just watched episode 33 and I couldn't help but notice that the Ginyu Force logo was edited out on Goku's pod. Why was this done?

Hmmm, that's odd. It's present in the thumbnail. Might be a set up to a joke.

It's a damn fine editing on that space pod, I actually was led to believe it was taken from the first episode of Z

So, looking through the cast in Episode 33, I have a question. Who's Straw and Chayote? Like, did the minions have names that were never actually said in the show?

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Anyone worked out what Trunks was saying underneath Vegeta's internal monologue? Something about "I've heard that story" ?

And what's the last thing Goku says? Hey...Lo?

I'm pretty sure Goku says "Yaaaaaaayyyy..." kinda dumb-foundedly when he realizes that Freeza's dead and everyone's there cheering for him.

It struck me as more just being confused and cheering because everyone else was cheering. In an "okay, why are we doing this?" sort of way.

So I have a quick question...

Lani does a fantastic Justin Cook and Chris Sabat (I love you, YYH Abridged) so it makes sense for him to be Raditz (initially) and Vegeta.

However I was wondering if any of the other voices are "based" on any official voice-actor or actress?

Well, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Chiatzou and Freeza all sound kind of like their english counterparts, and Piccolo and Trunks were both based in their FUNi voices.
Goku is a mix between Peter Kelamis, Ian Corlett, Sean Schemmel and Masako Nozawa.
Also known as "GeniDude" and "NerdyNorwegian"!

Here's the thing. Yamcha USED to sound like his English counterpart. Now, he's more of his own thing.

Freeza only sounds similar to Chris Ayres Freeza, form Kai. Certainly nothing close to Young's interpretation.

Chiaotzu is just Chiaotzu.

Trunks isn't NECESSARILY based off FUNi's version. Fact is, if I really wanted to, I could make him sound much more like an imitation of Vale. But I actually try to avoid it as that would require a ton of rasp and effect the kind of character we're planning on giving him.

As for Tenshinhan, I wouldn't say he sounds like FUNi's version. More like Ocean's. Not that, that was our goal, but it was a plan from the start to give Gan the role. He just went with it.

Piccolo, Vegeta, Jeice, Burter, Cell, Raditz, and Turtle are the characters we're basically using the English version as a springboard for. But Vegeta and Piccolo have actually evolved over the years to be something a little more... personal to Lani.

I seem to recall Trunks sounding a lot more like Vale in his cameo in... episode 19, was it? But I may be misremembering his voice.

Quick question that I didn't see addressed:

What was the version of Cha La used in the credits for episode 30? I don't recognize it.

It is the 2005 version. There's one for We Gotta Power as well.
It's a neat track, it even served as the opening to Super Dragon Ball Z.

I love the abridge can't wait for the new episode, the only TFS DBZ I didn't like were Deadzone and World's strongest. When they say longest episode I wonder does that count the 3 part finals or just the regular episodes.

Those aren't ours, really.

Deadzone and World's Strongest were written by ITouchedYusuke, Masako, Hideki/Vegeta3986, and Lani. They were also edited by Masako and Lani respectively... and well... NO one's skill level, on ANY front, were anywhere near what they are now.

The show is NOW written by myself, Lanipator, and Takahata101 and edited by me. As well, some recasting happened. Ultimately, you can understand that we don't consider those first two movies to be a part of TeamFourStar. In fact, we've many a time talked about redoing those movies if we had the time.

As for the length of the next episode, we're not including the multi-part episodes in that equation. It's looking to be about 14:30 long. We wanted to split it into two episodes, however... the material doesn't line up well for that. We'd end up with a decent length episode followed up by a really short episode, low on content.

Thanks Ryuman!!!!

And I see what your saying Kaiser. I'm guessing this new episode will cover a lot more in terms of the story?
