Will we ever have the original DBZ soundtrack on a DBZ game?
Featured in western copies, that is.
I really loved the synthesised DBZ BGM tracks of Raging Blast 1 & 2 but sadly they were not included in the Europe/US copies, only Japanese, I think.
If I remember correctly AB Groupe is holding the rights to use Kikuchi's music on DBZ games? Why don't they permit to use on the games? Wouldn't they profit from it?

This is always the most glaring flaw in DBZ vidya games for me. It's like not having Ifukube in Godzilla games.

I also have a problem with this. I once tried to ask about this on the Dragon Ball games Facebook page but, as expected, I got no answer. I had the idea of having selectable scores, like what Sega did with the Sonic CD remake. Sonic CD had a different score in America from what it did in Japan, so the remake let you choose between them.

Namco Bandai likely doesn't want to pay Kikuchi a lot of money. Simple as that I'd imagine.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

The sparking and raging blast series has a bit of Kikuchi. It's the Americanization team for the games that doesn't want to pay to use Kikuchi.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

I'm guessing it's more expensive than NB is willing to pay. Perhaps they might also figure that DBZ fans who only watched the series on TV with the English replacement scores wouldn't appreciate the Kikuchi tracks. It really sucks to not know.
"Those transformations insane,
They wanna turn up hours late and steal the show from the pros who had to die for the name." - Yamcha (DBWTF: Z-Rap 3)
"Over saturation is easy. Just drag the slider to the right and there you are: instant interest. And certainly, the majority of the public likes saturated color images. In fact, if you want to quickly create a popular image, simply over saturate the colors and increase the contrast. While you may not achieve a sophisticated image, you will achieve an image that will please a less demanding audience." - Alain Briot

Yeah, maybe, but I don't see the logic in Europe, where everyone saw the series, myself as well (People in UK probably not), with Kikuchi score.KingofWisdom wrote:I'm guessing it's more expensive than NB is willing to pay. Namco Bandai seems to have a Japan convention in France every year for Dragon Ball games and whatnot, so the French audience must be important to them, so they'd also appreciate the original DBZ music in DBZ games.
