Fav Sound Effects?

Post by Cyberman » Wed Apr 12, 2006 4:07 pm

Yes, you read the thread right. (hey, that rhymes!) What is your favorite sound effect you like to hear on the show?

For me, I gotta go with the sound of the Super Saiyan aura. I don't know, that constant "whoosh" sound just rocks for some reason.

I like the sound Goku's giant genkidama makes as it approaches Freeza on planet Namek.

First KameHameHa wave ever is by far the coolest sounding.

:P I love the 'whoosh' of the SSJ Aura.
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

Obviously, the sound of teleportation is the best. Still, the sound of the capsules popping, scouters activating, and that rattle snake effect are quite good.

This is a little weird, but I actually find that annoying sound that Cell's feet make when he walks kind of cool. That and things exploding.....yeah, gotta love those explosions.

Squeaky Step! :D Yes, I have a name for it.

Another thing I like is the sound some characters make when they block KI blasts with their bare hands, it kinda makes a "ping" sound like a high pitched rifle being shot.

I have several.

1) The squeaky sound that Cell's feet make when he walks.

2) The put-put sound Kinto-un makes.

3) The gong-like sound used during dramatic moments in DB and early DBZ (usually involves camera zooming in on someone suddenly appearing or something like that)

There are more, but these are just the ones I can recall off of the top of my head.

Doi! How could I have forgotten the little put-put noise! That thing gets some pretty good whoosh noises too, unlike when they fly the boring way, without clouds.

I've started to get into One Piece. Thanks to Youtube, I get to watched it subbed.

I've noticed a lot of sound effects, like explosions or punching, sound very similar to DBZ. Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure there's one big bank of them man. I remember in the Bojack movie that the sound of Zangya's hair going all weird sounded just like the charging of an X buster. That and numerous other instances that can't be recounted. Basically, I don't think it's just a One Piece/DB thing.

It's because DBZ was produced by TOEI animation, the same company that's doing One Piece now. That explains why they have so many similiar sound effects. :P

Here's my list:

1. SSJ Aura - The "ree-ree-ree-ree" sounds so awesome.

2. Spine Jingle - Used during super dramatic moments. Weird, but very effective.

3. Kamehameha charge-up - Sounds like a laser bleeper-thingy, but it works as a dramtic build-up device. :P

I love the ssj "whooshy-whooshy" noise. A lot of the sound effects I like have been mentioned already...oh! How about the increasingly-beeping-faster-until-it-explodes sound from the scouters.

I like the noise the Kintoun makes when it moves. It's so cute.^^ And also the noise of the Hoi Poi capsules when they're released and the Dragon Radar's beeping.

Oh and does this count as a sound effect? I love Haiya Dragon's roars.^-^

I like that little sound effect when Shenron grants the wishes - when its eyes glow red. It would be something like: "Droooou"

It's funny when the sound of Cell's "robotic" feet is passed on to Brolli and onto even one of the Dark Dragons for a small moment as he lands. XD

The funky sound the Kintoun makes as its flying (not the "swoosh" noise) is pretty funny.

Though probably one of my favorites has to be whenever one of those rare occasion blasts takes place and you hear nothing but silence..and then a little after, there's a HUGE explosion sound. That's pretty awesome.

Ohhhh!

My FAVOURITE soundeffect of all is in Movie 12 (japanese version) when Janemba and Goku yell sometimes, there's this low 'roar' that accompanies it that just gives me shivers!

and the SSJ Whooshy sound... XP that just rocks everyone's socks ne?
