Dragonball Z: Movie #13 US DVD information

Post by Blitzen » Wed Apr 12, 2006 6:22 pm

Just read on the Animeondvd.com frontpage, Movie #13 (Now titles "Wrath of the Dragon") has been solicited for the 22nd of August, for the usual $24.99 MSRP. No idea on extras, though it's not entirely expected as to what will be on the discs if you take into account what was on the previous discs. THis is good, because it means they're all finally out, in one way or another.

Whoa! It's coming out way sooner than I thought it would! I wasn't expecting to be able to get this movie until well into 2007. Sweet.

(Does victory dance) My collection is almost finished! But I am also sad cause I think this is pretty much all that was left to dub... no more after this.

Hmm, I was just seconds away from posting the same topic. Except that my link was from Rightstuf.

There's always the "Ultimate Uncut" release of movies 1, 2, and 3...

This is good news. I didn't expect this so soon. Now if only we'd get the rereleases of DBZ Movies 2 and 3. And of course there's the first 13 episodes of DB and Movie 1, but don't get me started on that.

 Wrath of the Dragon?! Kick major ass!

I can't wait! But then again...I'd rather see the re-dubs first... :(
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

I think the subtitling on movie 2 is fine as it already is on the Pioneer release, plus it's the best dbz dub ever made.

Wow! Now that was fast. 'Wrath of the Dragon'? Now THAT is a good name, I guess.

Weird thing. They haven't hyped it as much as Fusion Reborn, that's for sure.

Well Iam sure there going to hype it as the release date gets closer.
"Wrath Of The Dragon" sounds like the main villan is a Dragon. I was expecting somthing like "Exploding Dragon Fist" or somthing like that. The original name was a little long though "Exploding Dragon Fist, If Goku Can't Do It Who Else Can?" or...somthing along those lines. :?

Refer to episode 17 of the podcast for info on why the Pioneer version is better. Anyways, they're cheaper than the re-releases if you find them on Amzon.

I can't read that title without thinking "The Wrath of Khan".

Otherwise, it's good to see a release date for the DVD. It's something to mark on the calander.

Hmm... Wrath of the Dragon?

My money was on either "Legend of the Brave Warrior" or just plain "Dragon Fist Explosion"

Wrath of the Dragon seems a bit lame to me

There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

The title "Wrath of the Dragon" is about as cliche a title as I'd heard out of Funimation in a long while. Not that it bothers me though, it's a shame they didn't try to be more consistent to the original name, as they had with Fusion Reborn.

Wrath of the Demon would have sounded better since Hildegarn is a demon or whatever....

I dont' understand why people would dish out more money for an "Uncut" version of Movies 1, 2 and 3. What would those discs have to offer that pioneer doesn't have on their disc?

Well, Goku's dragonfist kills Hildegarn by wrapping itself around him...so I guess thats what the whole movie's about.

Wrath of the Dragon=Squeezing itself around Hildegarn.

JPG = Not for comparisions. Kthx ;p

Seriously though, yes. Pioneer's versions were not that great a quality. Plus, figure a number of years worth of improvement in digital transfer processes. Worth the extra money? Eh, if it wasn't for the R2 releases, I'd just hang onto my Pioneer discs.

I can see the difference at the two comparisons but I for one am don't care much about that. My TV sucks anyway but I can understand how some people might care. I already own the Pioneer discs so I'm not going to buy any different versions. At least I can watch the show in English and listen to the Japanese BGM at the same time. With Funimation I have to listen to that guitar crap or do subtitles. I don't mind reading subtitles but sometimes I enjoy English tracks.
