As I mentioned in an earlier post, video proof will be coming, but the convention won't release the DVDs for a few months.

In the meantime no one believes me so whatever. Next time I hear a snippet of information I know where not to go with it...

I could understand no one believing me if I was new to the forum or a proven liar. Instead I've linked my website http://www.retrospekt.com.au to you all before, I've interviewed Funimation voice actors (under the "Interviews" section of the site) & I've never done anything out of turn on here before, for the small amount that I post. if after all of that no one chooses to believe me, well I can't make you all.

I'll go back to lurking. Cheers guys :)
Whoa, seriously. Way to overreact. Nobody is saying anything bad about you, relax and calm down.

A long time ago, before FUNi's "Blue Brick" sets for Dragon Ball started coming out, Wal-mart screwed up and posted a listing for it early complete with the final version of the cover art. When asked about if FUNimation had finally gotten the rights to the first 13 episodes from Kidmark, FUNimation still denied it saying they did not under any circumstances have those rights.

Then a month or so later, after all the official contracts and the like were signed and finalized, they announced the set we all already knew was official was indeed coming and would include those 13 episodes. Sometimes, FUNimation is not allowed to tell us things until certain points in time or certain commitments are met.

Sabat has also given false info in the past. Not because he' s a liar or anything, he just gets mixed up about the episode counts and the like. He once stated FUNimation was recording Season 4 of One Piece when they were really still on Season 3 because he got the Season designations wrong. This was shrugged off by FUNi, saying he must have had some "Bad sushi".

Right now, we have to go with what was presented. Sabat said this to you at a panel, and nobody necessarily denies that fact. Right now, we're stuck with two possibilities, and without more info there's really nothing else to say about it. The two possibilities are:

A: Sabat was somehow mistaken (Like they told him about a re-release of Kai in a new format, and they have the first 66 episodes already slated for release or something, and he mistook that or misspoke about it making it seem like "new" episodes)
B: Sabat was correct in what he said (tho I'd be happy if he were mistaken about the number of eps) and the Boo arc is indeed in production in dubbed form, but FUNi are contractually obligated not to say anything yet.

I really don't see what's wrong with Cook's Dende voice, it pretty much sounds like an older version of Laura Baily's Dende. The only improvement it needs IMO is maybe using a voice more like his Yusuke voice.

I'd rather Aaron Dismuke or Todd Haberkorn do it, to be honest.

It'd be hilarious if it was Aaron, considering he'd be replacing Maxey...

They are about the same. Perhaps his Dende voice is a little higher, but I don't think by much.

It baffles me that many seem to have a problem with his Dende but dig his Buu.

I never said I didn't believe this. It'd be nice though for there to be video proof since FUNimation is denying it.

No, the PROBLEM is that it's just "nice Yusuke" he's doing. He's not even trying.

I don't think he's not trying, I think he's trying too hard. That's my beef with him as an actor, he tries too hard and comes off as unnatural.

I liked his new delivery for Raditz. It was better than in Z if anything.

It did improve but I still don't think he was appropriate for Raditz, nor Buu for that matter. HIs voice fit Yusuke, but his acting was the problem.

Actually, I'd argue it did. He sounded cocky, arrogant, and other traits of a Saiyan.

He tried to make the character sound cocky and arrogant, but Cook comes off as desperately trying to sound like someone exuding arrogance. Chiba did make Raditz sound dismissive of Goku and Piccolo.

Raditz does not happen in the Buu arc. Isn't this running off topic a bit?

Fair enough, but the most interesting conversations are often ones that take tangents. I guess I'll just reiterate the point that I'm not fond of Justin Cook as an actor and would rather FUNi recast Super Buu. However, I can live with him. My biggest hope is that they recast Fat Buu.

Shoot, just PM your conversation buddy there and take it to the appropriate thread. It's not like you should STOP talking about the subject, just take it to the appropriate place.

Piss, I'm not a mod. What do I care? Can't stand Justin Cook as Raditz.

On topic: Really looking forward to hearing Kyle Hebert and Sabat as Vegeta in the upcoming arc. A lot of potential moments for win.

I hope they keep Doc Morgan as the narrator, he's amazing. I'm not overly fond of Kyle as the narrator as I don't think he has a narrator's voice, but he did a good job with the ending narration when Vegeta dies trying to kill Buu. If I recall, that script was pretty accurate to the original. Imagine how great it will be with an improved Sabat and an awesome narrator :D

Sabat has really improved. Listen when 18 breaks Vegeta's arm. Holy crap does he make it sound painful. Much Much Much better when compared to his lackluster first time in dbz.

I don't think Fat Buu necessarily needs to be recast, Josh Martin is clearly quite capable of doing deeper, growly voices (Commander Red, #15, et al.), I'm sure with different direction he can pull off something similar to Shioya's performance. Hell, he could probably pull off Evil/Super Buu too and I'm kind of hoping he does since it never made sense to me why they would use different actors for what is essentially the same character.

Hearing his voice in recent games makes me believe were stuck with the normal z voice we got before.

Unlike ABED, I want Justin Cook to return as Super Boo. Nothing was funnier then Vegetto and Boohan fighting with Boohan being driven into madness.

The games aren't necessarily a good source to go off of since they still make Buu refer to himself in the third person, seeing the direction the rest of the Kai series has gone I highly doubt they'll still go for that (Not to mention in UT Super Buu refers to himself in the third person despite not doing so in the series or even the other games, so their treatment of Buu is about as consistent Cell's voice in the games).

Personally, I didn't mind Cook as Buu, although I think Brian Dobson's take is probably on par with him (one of the few voices I give credit for in the Westwood dub). As I said, the only problem I have is that I prefer a consistent actor to voice what is just different incarnations of the same character, both Dameon Clarke and Travis Willingham did well enough for the same character, so why is Buu such a (for lack of a better term) clusterfuck?

eugh I dont want the buu saga in kai :( i love the fillers in that arc, kai will ruin the buu saga too, I mean they completely got rid of all the humour in DBZ IMO
I guess I don't have to watch it if I don't want to.
