But yeah I knew that since the german version was the first version I watched I really like Gohans german voice, his voice actor also does Koji in Digimon Frontier (He sounds a lot older there though)
Funfact: The guy interviewing them does Shen Longs voice XD
I dont know how to sub but I could translate and post heresangofe wrote:PS, would be wonderful is someone could subtitle these interviews.
I could translate this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuWV2xyE ... re=related right now as its short
Tommy ("Son Goku") : RAAAAAAAARGH
Narrator: The name "Tommy Morgenstern" is not well known,
but the voice of the Dragonball main character Son Goku is
known by millions of anime fans. This voice actor can handle
this action-packed anime series.
Tommy: You lie there, and you see this character ,really like in pieces,
and his hand shakes, and then you go crazy, and you really feel it.
Narrator:At the beginning "Dragonball Z" was a whole new challenge for the
german Voice actor-team ,because the dialouge in manga is really
exaggerated
Claudia Urbschat ("Bulma") : (Sorry I cant quite catch what she says there)
Claudia: Well, its kinda more crazy/lively than the tame, american way of
story-telling
David Nathan (Piccolo)&Sandro Blümel (Son Gohan) :NARRRGH
Claudia:Those comics...you can really live out/act out in them as a
voice actor.
Narrator:"Live out" isnt always what Tommy can do though,he has it rough.
Tommy: I´m dying all the time.Or I am hurt pretty bad.And sometimes I´m just gone allogehter
Narrator:When that happens the little Sandro Blümel as "Son Gohan"
will step into the spotlight. For the action-sequences he has
his own little tricks.
Sandro: Well, sometimes you have to,just punch yourself a little
so you can like do your job better. But usually its okay,
and you dont have to hurt yourself.
Narrator: Thank God.Though,of course,we dont want to go
without the action.

I take it this interview is older than 2 years and I wonder how old he is now? I can imagine his voice changed quite a bit so I doubt they'll be recasting him for DBK .
I didn't really keep up with the international Kai news, was a german release for it announced?

here he plays the blue-haired ponytail guy in this one : (Wich is from 2004)

Lots of Fun facts : the kid voiced by Gohan later gets a twin bro voiced by Trunks. The one with the googles plays kid Goten. And the fat kid in blue clothes is Krillin. The blond chick does Goku as a kid in the movies and flashbacks in Z,and the little kid with the hat does Videl in GT. also the mon with the pink scarf around his belly has Boo´s voice,he also later adopt a little mon with Kaioshin´s voice, and the brown mon with the big nose is Cell. Also the guy who does Shen Longs voice is the dad of the chick that does Chichi (yes the german version is full of ...weird...fun,seriously I could go on and on)

Btw. I tried searching for the german VA for Piccolo from Evolution Did they also have David Nathan play him?
David Nathan who does Piccolo from DBZ also plays Spike (James Marsters) in the german dubbed version of Buffy.

PLEASE do! I love learning about foreign dubs.Timo wrote:Um, sangofe, old friend, where are the news?

A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

I did happen to have a talk with a German Dbz fan some months ago and he told me that you don't have to be an actor to voice a character .
( Well , no wonder why they do dub even live action movies ! )
And on top of that , he may voice even Vegeta if DragonBall Z Kai comes to Germany !
Strange people ...

Was that Timo or any of his fandub friends ?TheRed259 wrote:I did happen to have a talk with a German Dbz fan some months ago and he told me that you don't have to be an actor to voice a character .

Re: German DBZ voice actors - Gohan is voiced by a kid!
@sangofe Don't know the guy . Nevertheless , the whole issue is strange ...
Spoiler:
Re: German DBZ voice actors - Gohan is voiced by a kid!
@sangofe: No, not to my knowledge. Besides, me and my colleagues don't make fandubs anymore.
On a side note: the dubbing of live action movies and TV shows is tradition over here (same in France, Spain, Italy). The first German dubs are from before WWII and after that the allied occupying powers wanted a way to show their films to the general public. What's easier to show someone a film in their language? Dubbing is perfect for this and in Germany the dubs are on a very high quality level (at least for big and high budget movies in movie theaters, Anime is another topic).
Ah well, so much for my side note. Didn't want to unleash a discussion.
First of all, I don't think that Kai will come to Germany. If it will be really broadcasted there will be a casting and no "guy from the street/simple fan" would made it to this.
That's not exatcly true. Most of the German voice actors are actors, straight from the theater, film or TV. However not all of them. Nowadays some voice actors are doing the job since they were kids. Learning by doing for years.TheRed259 wrote:I did happen to have a talk with a German Dbz fan some months ago and he told me that you don't have to be an actor to voice a character .
