Here's a couple more:
- Sparking Meteor- 6 years old this year.
- Dragon Ball Z 3- 10 Years old next year.

All of this stuff makes me feel really old because it all occurred over the course of my schooling years, even if I'm actually fairly young compared to a lot of you. In fact, this probably sounds silly to most of the older members, but when I think that the Orange Bricks started coming out in my last year of primary school and I'm finishing college and moving on to Uni' at the end of next year/2015 it all starts to really sink in.

I'm only fifteen and this stuff makes me feel super young in contrast with most everyone else on the forum.
Although, when I did become a fan back in sixth grade, which was around the year 2009 (yes, I am a Kai-generation fan), it makes me feel like I was really really late to the game, especially considering the series began thirteen years before I was born in Japan, and a year before I was born in the U.S.
So mondo lame.

Yeah, that means you were born around the time I first got into the series, which was slightly older than you were when you got into the series. If I wasn't feeling old before, this thread sure is making me feel old.

It makes me feel old that the 90's started 23 years ago and that people already remade movies from the 90's already like Total Recall :P . I'm surprise no one talks about the good old days of buying fan subs? I guess most people here were not old enough to buy fan subs from Anime Labs and Ctenosaur?

My first anime was Laputa - Castle In The Sky...and I didn't even know it was anime...in fact I didn't even know it's name until a few years ago. I must have been 4 or 5 when it aired on TV. It looked interesting so I recorded it (missing the beginning hence not knowing the name)

Dragonball was my second anime. I seek'd out all kinds of videos on the internet including fansubs on Kazaa. As far as was aware they didn't sell fansubs where I was... let alone know they sold them.

I still might own my bootleg VHS copy of DBZ Movie 8 somewhere. I got it like a year or two before it was released in the US in the Arundel Mills Mall in Maryland. I also remember tracking down other fansubs on the web since I started to become a DBZ fan at the time back in 2001. 2001 may be late to most people, but it's better then never becoming a fan at all.

Well I'm only a year or so older than you, so I guess it's more to do with the age of your fandom than your actual age. :P This franchise squeezes a lot into each year.

Can you believe that we thought it was gonna die out for a while two years ago?

Yes, yes, I recall myself replying to ignorant YouTube comments about "Hoshi" two, three years ago saying that "The age of Dragon Ball is over, get over it" or something of the sort. I guess I was pleasantly mistaken.
But anyhow, I suppose you are correct, I was very very late in my fandom, but it's better late than never, of course.
So mondo lame.

Nope. I feel younger when everyone posts how old they feel. I shall feed on the misery to sustain my youth. JK.

Haha yeah...I'm 23 now and I plan on staying with it another 23 years if possible lol :P I remember getting into the series when the Ocean voice cast was dubbing dbz and came on Toonami. and I remember my friend who worked at a video store would hook me up with some movies and episodes that was in Japanese. I was pretty happy about that. :)
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128
Still recording Toonami broadcasts on VHS after all these years!

I still remember my brother getting them on DVD, and Toonami occasionally showing older episodes before the Ultimate Uncut Edition was a thing. Oddly enough, I never really questioned the voices being different. As a matter of fact, I was aware of how different a single voice actor can sound between just starting to play a character and really getting into the groove of things (for example, Dan Castellaneta's early voice for Homer sounded like Walter Matthau, but now he sounds really high pitched and whiny, more like a cartoon character), so I probably assumed it was just that.
This will never not be my sig:

I can't believe this is on-topic.

I'm only a teenager but this year is 10 year's since I discovered Dragon Ball which was when I was in year 1, can't believe it's been that long. Just this year I finally completed my Dragon Ball collection having all 7 Dragon Boxes, all of DB, GT, the movies & Kai. Dragon Ball I fell was my introduction to anime and has led me to discover so many great shows i.e. Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, One Piece, and I'm still getting into more anime today just ordered Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion 1.11.

Wow that does make feel a bit old. I was born in 1991, so I did watch the Ocean dub back in 1998. I didn't become a fan until around 2001. I was one of those people who could not stand DBZ at the time.

Haha, same. I hated DBZ but it was becaused people teased me for liking Pokemon, silly childish reason. I was also one of the few who watched Digimon. The Artificial Human arc got me interested because of all these lengthy articles in the kids magazine 'K-Zone' but ironically it was Cell who hooked me.

I only saw some of the Ocean dub in 2003 and a bit in 2010. I did see a bit of the fight with Freeza in 2000 though when FUNi took over.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

Holy crap, I remember K-Zone! Think we had a subscription as well. I remember reading a letter in the Anime section that was asking the editor who the strongest was out of Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, Super Saiyan 3 Goku and "Mystic" Gohan.

Haha, yes, I remember those Q&A segments. The power level answers were really all over the place.

I tried getting a question in because I wanted to win a video.

Yeah, I remember K-Zone as well. And those power levels. :P 180,000,000 for SS4 Goku and Vegeta and 360,000,000 for SS4 Gogeta are two examples I remember.

I also remember K-Zone saying Vegeta was 26 in the Boo Arc xD

YES, those are the power levels I remember. I also remember him saying Boo with Gohan, Gotenks and Piccolo absorbed was 550,000,000.
