I don't approve of any harsh message towards them, what's a few more days of waiting? We don't know how it works at their work place, so we can't jump at conclusions right now.
So I don't approve of any rude behavior to them, but I must say I don't approve of the staff's (lack of) reaction either - although I do consider the possibility that this lack of reaction may not be their fault, but a technical impossibility for them, which would be forgiveable of course.
The problem is not that we have to wait for information, I think it's more the lack of confirmation on their part: even if they are not going to show us anything while they spend a few days preparing things, they should at least acknowledge that the goal was reached and the reward for it is indeed coming our way soon, being prepared right now, and possibly giving us an actual date instead of having to check the page again and again.
Most fans must be fed up by the fact that everytime they check the page, it's as if the 100,000 likes had changed nothing and was simply not taken in account.
The staff should just calm down the burning minds and say: "alright, you've hit 100,000 likes, congratulations, prepare for something in the upcoming week!" or something.
You know, otherwise, it's as if your PS3 didn't tell you "you earned a trophy" and was just like "so what? You did what was wanted from you and you need me to tell you it's been taken in account? Just pretend the objective was reached and hope that a trophy will indeed appear later on your trophy list without a problem!"
As if you were at a concert, and one hour and a half after the promised start, nothing is happening: you would like someone to climb on stage and at least say "[Name] is going to be 2 hours late, please be patient, you'll have what you came for" instead of being kept in the dark about what's going on and whether anything is happening at all in the end.
As if you were a kid, and your dad told you "I'll buy you this game if you have good grades", and you get good grades. You would at least expect him to say, if he doesn't have the means to buy it right now "okay, I'll buy it for you at the end of the month." for example, and not acting like he's avoiding the subject and not acknowledging you earned your reward, as if there was never any deal in the first place.
So I don't understand how people could be harsh and even less how they could be insulting to them, but I do understand how they could be slightly frustrated by what may mistakenly appear to some as being a "looking away, covering ears" attitude.
When you hold your part of the deal, you want the other to acknowledge your action and state he'll act accordingly, and most people will be irritated by a "let's pretend nothing happened" behavior.
Of course, this is likely not the case here, but that's how most fans probably take it: as some utter disrespect of their achievement/deal, which is one of the top ways to piss someone off quickly.
As far as I'm concerned, I originally expected something not before the E3 event for this year's game, so I'll be glad enough if we have something before that thanks to that unexpected deal, which has big chances of happening (otherwise, those raging fans will be REALLY pissed at them)
